I think there was a bias against NoD this game.

What do you guys think about RR's denial of the punch?

He is a tool, plain and simple. Plus that whole crying episode, what a beeotch. Does beating ND do anything for his career at this point? He is still loathed by the Alumni there and will be shown the door if UM lays an egg in the Big Ten.

Jim Rome just went off on Rich Rod about him not doing anything or even acknowledging that Mouton punched Olsen. He basically just ripped him a new one and how classless DickRod is. Loved it.

wow...this clip has made outside of the Notre Dame community.

a local radio show in SoCal has a website (where they stream live broadcast) that has a link to the punch of Olsen, the title of the link is:

Rich Rod, WTF?

considering this is SoCal, and trojan terroritory I was somewhat surprised to see the link on the page.

Mouton Suspended

Mouton Suspended

Mouton was suspended by the Big Ten for his blatant classless punch of Olsen. Of course, according to DickRod there was nothing wrong with the play. Stay Classy DickRod!

Good start suspending the classless athlete. Now suspend the classless officiating crew.

That says more about how classless Rich Rod is for apparently seeing nothing wrong with the play

For the Eastern Mich game.. I heard Jim Rome segment blasting DickRod ass..

Once he stopped about slamming his ass i turned it down and listened to music and then saw that he was suspended but didn't catch for how long. Thanks for the info.

"What are you talking about?" Rodriguez told reporters. "I know they were talking about one incident on film, and I didn't see anybody throw a punch or anything like that. The little bit I saw on the clip, I saw guys got tangled up together, and Jonas tried to free himself. There's a whole lot of officials out there, and I'm sure if there was an infraction, then they'd call it."

I hope for his sake he is thinking of a different play and not the one with the Olsen punch

This is a black eye for Hot Rod. After being quoted as saying there wasn't any punch, Big10 suspends the player in question. This is what you call the scUM's class!!! :D

The Big Ten should be suspending the crew that called the game. Simply the most biased officiating I have ever witnessed. I understand ND lost this game and should take responsibility for that; I'm not making excuses. And, I'm sure ND isn't still thinking about it. But, it really was horrendous officiating.

you do have to wonder if the Big Ten will reprimand the officials for missing such an obvious call. Especially since they stepped in and had to take action after the fact.

Since we do have a big ten crew this week i expect us to get some borderline calls come our way. I am sure the big ten reviewed the game film and will let the officials know that they messed up.

I wonder if it could go the other way to though. The Big Ten officials give a another sub par performance because of all the fuss people are making. I hope not.

I seriously doubt it will make any difference, unless it is the same crew.

Yeah it will because the focus will be on the officiating. I would be surprised if we do not get some borderline calls that go in our favor this week

The announcers may be talking about about last week's officiating but don't expect an NBC crew to climb on board as they're suppposed to be "impartial" like the officiating crew is supposed to be.

ND getting some borderline calls. Not going to happen. If you've officiated football, baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, whatever you know that if you "miss" a call you don't try to balance with the next call. You move on and call them as you see them. If you make a "bad" call on one holding flag, calling one on the other team to "balance the mistake" only adds confusion to the game as you're changing the definition of the call. The players have no baseline to work from. You call consistently.

The best ND can hope for IF they get assigned the same crew (which I doubt the Big 10 would do given the degree of controversy) is that the blatant calls desis. Blatant calls like the review ref in the booth overturning a Touchdown on an out of bounds call that the clips show is ot nincontrovertible.

Mouton suspended by Big Ten for one game

Mouton suspended by Big Ten for one game

"The actions of Jonas Mouton during the Notre Dame game are unacceptable," Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany said in a statement. "Mouton's behavior has no place in the sport of football or the Big Ten Conference."

Rich Rod: "What are you talking about?" Rodriguez told reporters. "I know they were talking about one incident on film, and I didn't see anybody throw a punch or anything like that. The little bit I saw on the clip, I saw guys got tangled up together, and Jonas tried to free himself.
