No, it’s not.
The pitchfork drama queens are going to chase him to another job. Then we can go back to shopping in Kelly’s aisle.

No, his seat isn’t even close to warm. His seat is on ice. But admitting he was not aware of the situation is the very last thing I would’ve done. Admit you made a mistake and just leave it at that.

1) I'm a Freeman Stan and think he's the right guy
2) I think and trust in him for Miami

3) That press conference was still incredibly uncomfortable.

All can be true
Yeah Marcus is probably the safest job of the major programs in this game other than probably Kirby. He’s doing a wonderful job here I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else

This was the first time watching a presser of his that made me a little uncomfortable. Something feels off, and it’s a little worrisome to me that this guy whose entire brand is based on being this confident and unflinching personality is showing signs of cracking going into the most important regular season stretch of his career. That’s not nothing

less than inspiring presser this morning. Felt pretty unsure for a guy in charge of a 6-1 football team. Little concerning not gonna lie
It's almost like the PR team told him to do a 5-10 minute intro (much longer than normal) recapping BYU and the bye week, and touching on some challenges high level, even the 1 second on the clock. If you do this, then the media won't ask you questions about the obvious issues during the BYU game.

Freeman said he didn't hear about the 1 second on the clock until back on the plane, hours later. WHAT, i know he doesn't have his phone by my phone was blowing up about 30-60 seconds after the game with it. He should have known before he went and did his PC.

Maybe after the "brashness" of BYU week, he's decided to let the play do the talking. It's still the same "accountability" message as always. You guys want him to dwell on 1 second, he literally told us all to flush it because there were 10+ other plays that cost the game.

When he down played the PI and second on the clock and said "we didn't deserve another play, we had 12 others that lost us the game" - that's all I needed to hear.

He has a major problem with coach speak / taking the high road where he doesn't realize that sometimes it doesn't apply to the question being asked.

The press conference is uncomfortable because he is being completely dishonest about stuff and frankly he looked unprepared to get "tough questions" (which weren't even tough) and answer them directly. He needs to learn that there is a middle ground between BSing everyone and throwing his position coaches under the bus.

I don’t know if this was pointed directly at me or as a general statement but neither of my comments on his presser had really anything to do with the end game stuff

I watched the whole thing live and my main concern from it all was his lack of usual Freeman aura. He just seems so defeated and down and it’s really throwing me for a loop. Just feels weird right now

That's what I get from assuming then, my apologies.

He never has been one to throw anyone under the bus publicly. Same shit last year and after NIU. Why is this surprising.
I don't expect him to be throwing coaches/players under the bus. But I would like to see more confidence. I know he acts like this, even after wins. I know that I'm hyper analyzing, but it just feels a little painful from a HC.

I've see the guy speak to players and its not like this at all, its like he gets nervous in front of the media/fans? I'm sure he's trying to censor himself in real time, but you'd think it'd be a little better than this lol

5 mins into my watch of the presser, Freeman looks like a man wishing he could take back some of the bad words he said during an ass chewing. LOL

He's struggling with "oh yeah, I got in some ass " vs not letting the outside world know about it.

I hope this is the case because I hate the coach speak but I get it. As much as I want to know what happened behind closed doors he has the responsibility/right to give us as much information as he wants.

I also hope this changes how we start games for the rest of the season and seeing other changes so I don't think coach speak at press conferences is the norm in and out of the program.

I'm probably blinded by being a MFMF apologist, but I'm not seeing what some of you saw. That was a normal presser to me. I'd say the BYU week was out of the norm with the "this what we do" stuff.

This was back to the "bland" we take responsibility mixed with a dash of "I told Mike Brown's ass to get more receivers ready". Things look fine to me.

TBH that’s exactly how I’ve felt since that game. I was so disappointed in so many things from the staff/gameplan, I didn’t really care about the last play. I hope MFMF and the staff took a real honest look at how they performed in that game and are making some adjustments going forward.

I'm just floored that the staff made absolutely no corrections to what UNC exploited. I mean ND should have thanked petrino after. ND won, and as freeman said in his presser, on a normal game week they just move on to the next opponent. Terrible, they got a bit exposed in a win. Fix it!

UNC showed everyone ND's weaknesses with their third down man packages and showed weaknesses with our zone packages. Then BYU does the exact same thing first drive to our man doing a sprint out pitch, and we bail on that package the rest of the game instead of making a simple adjustment to fix it.

It's just such bad self-scouting and coaching by the staff, add probably stubbornness that we're winning convincingly doing it.

I don’t have a problem with what he said about the calls and clock issues. Can’t whine about the refs in that forum. Own it.

However, not having a clock guy in the box is INSANE when you have that many staffers.

Yea, at this point hire a whole team of staffers to pay attention to the details of the game since apparently the guys making millions aren’t able to multi-task.

He was told by the officials on the field and the replay booth that had "confirmed" no time remained. The fuck is he supposed to do.

Of anything to be upset with the staff for during that game, the last second fiasco is not it. That is squarely on dog shit conference officials.

Sometimes I really wonder if many on this board are in a dream. Consider we have had nothing but absolutely crap coaches for almost 30 years and when you get one that is an amazing recruiter, a great example for the university, a coach that fathers want their kids to play for and a coach that other universities point at and say “ I wish our coach was more like that”, you bitch and moan. What you guys deserve is a coach like Brian Kelly.

Sorry guys, but there was only one Saban and he wasn’t beating down the door to come here either.

He was, however, on an airplane tarmac in Baton Rouge waiting for the call in 2001 (allegedly.) Just sayin’.

Why do people still talk about Freeman's job security every time ND loses a game? That's like threatening divorce every time you have a disagreement with your spouse
