It's an extremely strong year in Ilinois, across multiple positions. 8 of the top12 might be a little optimistic, but don't be shocked if ND lands at least 6 of them (assuming they push). That said, a lot of it will depend on staff preference. Do they like Jack McNamara or Theo Schott better at TE #2, for example? Would they be willing to take all three Illinois OT's if they could land them, or do they go elsewhere? Is Coleman ultimately good enough, or do they aim higher at OG? And is it realistic to land both potential 5 star edge rushers in Prescott and McGee?

Yea. I think the biggest questions are:
  1. Who do they want to aggressively pursue at OT?
  2. Same question as above but at TE
  3. Are they going hard after Miles? The fact him and Romeo are on the same defense is crazy

Miles is at Carmel Catholic and Romeo is at Mt Carmel. Confusing, I know.

Mt Carmel is basically rolling out an IMG level defense at this point.

Considering ND will likely only take 2 edge players in the cycle, wrapping up Prescott early gives ND soooo many options to land a second impact player and call it a wrap...

Kam McGee (#3 National comp)
Asher Ghiotto (#6 National comp)
Cassell Cruickshank (#15 National comp)
Jalanie George (#16 National comp)
Cam Toomey (#55 National comp)
George Parkinson IV (#89 National comp)
Asa Burch (#162 National comp)
Merrick Ham (#164 National comp)

So many options on the board and ND only has to land one of them so they can hone in on the best combination of player, fit and NIL cost. One thing I will note is that Prescott is a bigger DE (already 250+lbs) which projects to the big end position. Therefore, my guess is that ND's preference will be to target a WDE / Edge type pass rusher to compliment him. Kam McGee is the obvious first choice, along with Asher Ghiotto, but don't sleep on Cam Toomey. For some reason I've always felt that he'd be a good fit for ND's class.

I believe Parkinson cut his list and we did not make it. The interesting thing about Toomey is that there really is no "fit" for this area. What I mean is that section 2 football is....not good. Best player from last year's class went to U Albany. It is just not a talent rich area and d1 athletes are for basketball. Anthony Weaver was back home at Saratoga and spoke to the team during workouts. Hopefully he got in his ear.

Agreed, I'm not turning down elite D-line prospects, this is where you get greedy. If 4:stud DE's want to come take them if 4 DT's want to come in 2028 you would be nuts to not take them find room elsewhere.
