It’s pretty insane family from Colts neck and Bergen Catholic is just going to the highest bidder lmao.

Annoying, but OU needs an elite quarterback this cycle more than we do. The staff has been great at being selective so it is what it is. Money is there, can’t be the highest bidder for everyone.

“Tagliaferri actually told Notre Dame he was committing June 21. Following that but before he went public with his decision, Oklahoma increased its offer and made a stronger push to get him…Even after the commitment took place, Oklahoma continued to push forward. Sources said Notre Dame was not going to match Oklahoma's offer, which led to the decommitment.”

It's crazy how ND actually stands on principle with these agents. And I think in the long run it's been working out generally well in our favor?

Top 3 Mexican restaurants in South Bend

1.) Chicago Taqueria
2.) Franky’s
3.) Hacienda

South Bend has some awesome Italian spots. When you need to mix salsa with ranch, you know a good Mexican joint will be hard to find.

Nice to know you, Trey. Comes around, goes around.

Worst thing about NIL is that I can't even bring myself to be annoyed with these kids anymore. I get that the principled thing to do is shut it down but more than ever these "recruitments" are just "comparing job offers." I would never not pick up the phone to listen to an employer who wants to offer me more money. Even if my answer is "no", it's nice to know the market.

The one thing that helps is that I know this kid would probably rather go to ND if things were financially close, so the amount Oklahoma paid must be an overreach. So Oklahoma put more money into this kid than we thought was wise, and they have less money than us overall... seems like we continue to win this zero sum game.

I'll also take this way of handling thing every time over the Dante Moore "will he, won't he" BS. Kid had the decency and good upbringing to rip the bandaid off.

If he took 1.25 let’s say what ND is offering, good for him. But God bless a kid telling Marcus Freeman to his face he’s committed, then talking to OU continually over money over the next week and flipping. Moron behavior.

Just don’t commit to start. The method is more reason to critique than reason.

Yeah no argument that not committing is preferable, but I always hedge on the timing being at the whim of the employer more than the kid unless it's a five star type kid. If ND was offering him a good amount with a "get onboard now or we're circling back to the southern guys" and he doesn't have the Oklahoma financial offer in front of him, I don't know why he wouldn't commit. And at that point, if you're playing financial hardball with me, I'm not playing the honor system with you.

Not saying that's what happened here at all. Kid could be an asshole for all I know. Its just not as easy for me to act angry when everybody else in the food chain is looking out for No. 1.

This dude watched Oklahoma’s sorry ass offense and Mateer stink it up all season, and said “yup, that’s the place for me”.

Notre Dame will be just fine.

Don’t know too much about OK recruiting but I have to imagine there is a better path to QB1 there than ND.

Another reason I'm assuming Oklahoma overpaid lol. I watched a lot of Oklahoma last year and that offense is basically built out of glued- together popsicle sticks and the hope that Mateer is going to do something so stupid the defense won't see it coming.

IMO something is going on at Bergen Catholic, they just lost the Woodward twins and another P4 player to Don Bosco seemingly out of nowhere. Now this.
This is a story someone on the beat should chase. Just weird stuff going on there over the last week. Can’t imagine their coach is psyched ab the embarrassing way this went down with a premier program.
