Crazy two bros commit and then decommit from the same school. Wonder how many times that's happened.

Would love to hear the backstory once the dust settles

VT and MSU? Not visiting A&M? I’m thinking A&M canceled that visit. Get him outta here

They landed a 3 star LB and got a CB for another so I would imagine yes, canceling the A&M visit had nothing to do with Irvin staying solid.

When all is said and done I think he ends up at MSU after toying around with ND.

I love recruiting.

Franklin trying to get back at Freeman for ending his PSU career. Probably thinking he could finally get back at Freeman for all the recruiting L’s he took last year.

If he's gone you have to imagine ND having no linebackers committed is going to be attractive to someone. The staff will have budgeted a competitive amount of money for the position, so eventually it's going to entice somebody to jump at the combination of opportunity and money available.

I stand by the point I made the other day. If Irvin decommits and his NIL money is back on the table, I'd make a HUGE offer to Kaden Henderson using the money allotted for the 2 linebackers they were looking to take and try to to get him on board. I'd then scour the country for a guy that the staff feels is underrated and could be acquired for cheap, and take him on as second, projectable inebacker... You can always address depth through the transfer portal at a later date, but landing a player the caliber of Kaden Henderson, who is essentially the next KVA in ND's defense, almost always has to happen out of high school.

If he gets through the Texas A&M visit and makes it to ND, I'd make Henderson an offer that he can't refuse.

I will chip in $5

Of course, that's common knowledge. But ND didn't do him dirty like bro #2 seems to be doing.

What’s the difference in the two? His brother was a part of the class and got processed, that’s fairly dirty.

Rumors flying around that other schools are throwing more money than ND is willing to pay up for Amarri and he’s intrigued by it and checking it out. ND also no longer has his position coach on staff from when he joined the class.

Not sure one is more dirty than the other. It’s not his fault the LB board is in rough shape for ND.

Let’s be honest, he is doubtful to be much more than a career ST player at ND. At best garbage time. Take the money and get better talent

I disagree. He is a good player. I don't think ND is likely to land 2-3 LB prospects better than him. Jaiden Ausberry is a very good player for us and I think is comparable. Jamie at ISD really likes Irvin.

ND

Michigan State, Missouri and Virginia Tech

This isn’t complicated. ND will be fine.

Everyone can @ this post if we sign 0 quality linebackers and the defense falls apart due to 2027 linebacker recruiting.

The difference here is communication, at least from what I've gathered.

From what I recall, they told the elder Irvin they were going to continue to recruit other rb's after accepting his commitment. It seemed transparent, imo.

The sitch with little bro is different in that he's visited these other schools and didn't communicate with ND, allegedly.

You're right that the LB board isn't his concern. I agree with IIO for this class, it makes sense to spend big for Henderson and ensure 1 elite LB. Then let BJM and the recruiting staff find a diamond in the rough.

We are gonna have to go into the portal and pay big $$ this offseason. We haven’t recruited overly well in a couple years at LB for whatever reason when you have a former LB and defensive minded head coach.
