Tradition never dies. The shirt sucking is part of Notre Dame tradition.

They used to be good, somewhere along the line that tradition died. I think they were good when it was Champion typically or Adidas or Power Edge, but after that it went to Alta Gracias, then Colosseum Athletics, now someone else does them.
Even in the good years there were the occasional duds. The "gold" shirts typically suck ass, they're an obnoxious eyesore. I didn't care for the Madonna blue shirt either, a reminder of the Faust years...case in point, the last time we wore them was the 4-8 season in 2016. No more Madonna blue!

I feel like it is the same conversation about "the shirt" every year. "This one is especially bad, etc."

To me, it seems like it is supposed to be a gimmicky shirt each and every year.

I was at Duncan from about 10am to 4p for work meetings. The shirts they were wearing to promote the shirt announcement were better. I asked someone about the shirt and they said it was just a fun thing to do to raise money and that people buy it because it’s ND. I assume it’s student run, low overhead and they make a killing. It’s like McDonalds, why improve if people keep buying it.

It was started by students as a fund raiser for scholarships. The mission is still the same.

Apparently I have to upgrade my peacock this year to watch the spring game. Guess I’ll just wait and pirate it a few days later like a normal person.

Faison, Hughes, Bowen, Gray, Talich and Shuler would be due another year

Of whom, At least half would benefit from an extra year in college to either prepare for the NFL, or getting paid handsomely before becoming a professional in something other than football.

Faison, Hughes, Bowen, Gray, Talich and Shuler would be due another year

Faison: probably ready to move on to the NFL. Especially if CJ leaves.

Hughes: likely to return. Probably a 5th-7th round type pick at most in the NFL Draft. Could probably get 750k-$1.0 million to return to college for a 5th year and work with Patridge again.

Bowen: it would depend on the round projection he gets heading into the Draft. If he's projected as a day 2 guy he's better off to leave. If he's projected as day 3 guy he's better off to return, get paid $1.0-$1.5 million and keep developing.

Shuler: see Bowen.

Gray: depends entirely how the transition to NB goes and what the Draft grade for him is.

Talich: it would depend on what Shuler does. Talich would be in line to possibly start opposite Ethan Long or Joey O'Brien if both Shuler and Johnson leave. ND would pay him handsomely to stay. He's like never going to be more than a day 3 NFL Draft Pick. He'd likely have to see who was coming back and what ND's offer is.

I would expect Faison NFL regardless. Hughes definitely likely to use the 5th either here or elsewhere. Shuler NFL regardless. Talich I think would be back at ND if they pass it.

Bowen and Gray become the interesting ones to me. Interesting no LB was taken in the 3rd round. Nobody like Bowen was taken in the 1st. So the comparison becomes CJ Allen and Josiah Trotter taken in the 2nd. That’s a small needle to thread. For Bowen to be taken Day 2 he likely needs to be the best MIKE LB.

Gray I think will be a Day 3 pick, but would he really run it back yet again as younger competition only builds? Possible transfer candidate for the 5th year if so IMO. I say just have a healthy year and go NFL.

not gonna lie - Powlus was throwing some ducks in that video.
Fair... But I know a decent chunk were late in the season. PA in November/December on grass was always awful for playoffs back then (and when I was in high school in the oughts). The fields were muddy and wet messes, and the ball just was not coming off your hand well.

But yeah. definitely some quackers that were thrown just hard or far enough to not matter.

Yeh. All football players look like young boys barely out of their teens. (Grange) (Butkus) (my father's friend, Milner) (the army captain on his day job.)

For fellow season ticket holders... what is usually the price for a lot pass all season? I usually just get the free White pass, or park at the golf course.

On a similar note, I've contemplated buying season tickets, going to a few games, but then selling the others. Does anybody do the same thing and have you had an easy time reselling your tickets? Thanks

Based on what I've seen on some FB pages related to selling ND tickets, this seems to be a normal thing.

I will say... unless you're planning on going to the "shitty" games and selling the good games, I don't see a way of breaking even or making money. If that's what you're trying to do, might be tough. If you're just trying to get a couple of dollars for games you don't sell, I say go for it.

One trick that you might think about for future years is becoming a season ticket holder this year. And then starting next year, you'll get an opportunity to pre sale for individual games, and can make some money that way. I probably could have made a killing doing it for the Miami game this year. However, I do this trick as a way to go from 2 (my season ticket number) to 6 tickets to each home game, but not pay for the season membership price for the other 4 tickets. Granted, where my seats are at, it's easy to get 4 tickets right in front of me to each game.
