The latest chatter is with OSU following his visit.

There have been diverging theories in his recruitment on Notre Dame, once considered the leader. One is that once Al Washington left the staff, a lot of the air was let out of the balloon. The other is that the Irish offer so much on and off the field and his relationship with Charlie Partridge is growing so much that they remain a top contender.

Fakatou hinted at the latter during an interview after his Ohio State visit where he said the Buckeyes are now up there with Notre Dame. But visits and NIL packages will be crucial as the decision gets closer.

Feels similar to JOB’s recruitment for sure. ND is the constant always.

The part about them being right up with ND is the thing that stands out. Like he hasn't visited, we have a new DL coach, there has been Georgia buzz, Michigan buzz, Ohio State buzz...yet we still come up

I have a strong feeling once spring visits begin we're going to begin to have a lot of positive recruiting news. With all the new faces I'm sure it's been tough to build relationships, but once they meet face to face, especially if parents are there, then things will start to trend in a positive direction.

Agreed. They'll also have the Shields Family Hall that will likely wow players and their families.

This is where I am at. We seem to keep hearing about guys looking elsewhere, but I don't think we have had many, if any, guys really on campus yet. I bet that we start getting some good news, or at least a bunch of momentum, in the next month.

ND still on top.

Loy has this different than some of the recent reports:

Says ND vs USC

Sounds like Michigan now the leader per all the national writers at on3

The latest chatter is with OSU following his visit.

Your latest Fakatou leaders: Texas or Oregon.

We’re running out of schools to even lead

Interesting point Eric Thomas brought up that with Mekai Brown committing to usc, they are likely out since Fakatou wants to play end.

Makes it really seem like this is one Partridge can move the needle on. @Jiggafini19Deux first test for your guy at ND.

Crazy ND had spent 4 years recruiting this kid.
I honestly get the opposite feeling...after his comments, I dont get the warm and fuzzies...just seems to be all over the place.

Seems his leader probably changes everytime someone throws a couple more bucks in the kitty.

From a business perspective, he's doing the best thing to maximize his value. Make high spending programs think theyve got a great shot, means they're more likely to up the bid. Sucks for programs, but can't fault him as long as he shuts it down once he makes a decision.

I’ll take it but temper my enthusiasm until I hear his interviews after the next visit he takes and they are in his top 2.

I'll be cautiously optimistic here, but ND doesn't have the best track record of winning out when Larry Johnson genuinely wants a guy and is priotizing him at the top of OSU's board.

Let's see what Patridge can do!
