People will bash it as Wright State but this is exactly the type of pick up they need x4. 13.4 points as freshman. Against Cal, Miami OH, and Virginia (the 3 tourney teams he faced) he went for 17 a game. 35.6% from 3. If the money not being spent on Certa, Burton, and Haralson is available, there should be no lack of options for this team.

Its a start...build up from mid-majors

I don’t understand how this is even possible. If he gets some sort of waiver, he could be back at ND.

Had a small sample size this year but he had looked improved before the injury.

It was a bad joke.
His name is ND Okafor and our ND is in the mix.
There is an account tweeting about it — one that is apparently good to follow for basketball news about ND.
And so I said news for which one (which ND)?

…I’ll see myself out

Considering Burton can never stay healthy, can certainly make the argument his salary is better split over two quality starters than one star like I’m sure he was getting paid as.

You can make that argument. And it's something that a healthy program can ponder.

But that's not what's happening here so it's a moot point.

At least Cooper and Okafor are including ND in their list...that says something. This program needs something positive.

Those are the level of transfers they should have been bringing in the past few years. Hopefully they can close with 2 more guys of comparable or better level.

Would be another solid move. This team won’t be a tournament probably, but certainly won’t be the embarrassment that last year was

Roberts hit 40% from three this year, could be a viable replacement for Certa. From Arlington Heights Ill.
Duncomb avgd 18.93 points and 8.9 rbs while shooting 60% from the field, from Cincinnati Moeller. Probably an upgrade from Towt.
Needles to say playing time is something we can offer in abundance. Both are fifth year seniors.

Big South Player of the Year last year in his breakout season

A four-star prospect out of Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller in the recruiting class of 2021, Duncomb began his career at Indiana. He played sparingly with the Hoosiers for two seasons, then transferred to Xavier but never played, sitting out the 2023-24 season. Then he transferred to Winthrop, playing only 8 minutes per game in his first year with the Eagles but completely breaking out in his second.

Didn’t play great in any of his games against power conference competition which is a bit of a concern

Interesting. He basically did nothing at IU for two years. Went to Xavier and quit the team almost instantly once he found out he wouldn’t play much (“medically retired”). Went to Winthrop and did nothing again. Then this year just surged completely. The story is he rediscovered his love for the game type thing. Will see how much that comes through.

I am sure THE Micah Shrewsberry is the man to keep that love for the game cultivated.
