As an outspoken Christian… as long as you have a relationship with Jesus Christ and you try to follow what the Bible says I don’t care what your Church building says.
Just ignore this crap and move on. It has zero impact on anything unless you let it live rent free in your head.
Where did the Bible come from? How were the books chosen? How do you know you are interpreting said Bible properly? All of those different interpretations are what causes so many new "Church buildings." They can't all be objectively true if they're teaching different things.
Do you believe that Jesus was crucified, buried, and then rose again?
Do you believe his death was done to take the burden of sin from us?
The rest is irrelevant. That’s the gospel. That’s the message. That’s the importance of next Sunday.
I could name 3-4 actual verses in the Bible. I’ve listened to it all the way through a few times.Resident preacher. Which is why most Atheists are Atheists
Do you believe that I suck bc I don’t brethe and eat the bible?

Faith without Works Is Dead
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters,[e] if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? 17 So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder. 20 Do you want to be shown, you senseless person, that faith apart from works is barren? 21 Was not our ancestor Abraham justified by works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was brought to completion by the works. 23 Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another road? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.
Did the man next to Jesus on the cross have works? This sounds like merely intellectual assent or "Mere Christianity" to me.
Is There a "Mere Christianity"?
Also, from the letter of James:
Did the man next to Jesus on the cross have works?
I would argue that if you believe in who Hesus
I could name 3-4 actual verses in the Bible. I’ve listened to it all the way through a few times.
I like Galatians 6:9 and Joshua 1:9.
But I’ll never claim to be an expert or to know more about the Bible than the next guy. I think that’s where discipleship gets lost—when believers develop an “I know more than you” attitude.
I believe my role is to help further the kingdom and to be the hands and feet of Jesus on Earth.
Did the man next to Jesus on the cross have works?

You combat the room. Listen, don’t fight.
What's always been so weird to be is the logical disconnect between:Works based salvation and Mary along with all the Saints and idols yada yada yada. But if you answer all those, then they have a whole host of inconsequential differences.
It’s literally what they’ve been pushed on in the evangelical church. I used to be evangelical, and I used to hear it. I spent hours debating my family and answered all the questions name showed in scripture how we arrived at what we believe. By in the end, it doesn’t matter because we’re going to hell.
I agree to a point. A lot of times we major on the minors that are not eternity type matters and we argue for the sake of arguing.Where did the Bible come from? How were the books chosen? This. We quibble over minutia when we all agree on the most important and fundamental aspect of it all.I agree to a point. A lot of times we major on the minors that are not eternity type matters and we argue for the sake of arguing.
Did the man next to Jesus on the cross have works?
I’m not a biblical scholar, but dang I think sometimes “religion” gets in the way of following the actual teachings of Jesus—what he said, did, and instructed us to do.
worse; the woke will destroy himDidn’t see where the government threw him in jail…
Saved by grace!! Great comment.Did the man next to Jesus on the cross have works?

Satan believes in God…I believe in God
but not any religion

JesusWho determines what is considered major and minor?
Agreed.Jesus
Agree.Who's words, ultimately, are those seen in the letter written by James that I quoted for you? Which "actual teachings" are you referring to?
Also, just for clarification, your definition of "works" is likely not that of which the Catholic Church teaches. If you think the CC's teaching on "works" are things we do in order to "earn" salvation, you'd be wrong. Saving grace is a free gift from God. Full stop.
Often semantics are used to twist things and straw man. Prots often call it "fruits."
While I would generally agree, I was once in an auto shop in the ex-urbs of Chicago where two guys were talking religion with each other, and it was clear they were Protestants of some sort. One said to the other that Easter was for the Catholics. The other agreed. So there's that.Do you believe that Jesus was crucified, buried, and then rose again?
