Wasn’t sure if I should put this here or in the music thread but,… there was no reason why this song should have gone this hard lol

Believe it or not Vice is my fav gta, played the hell out of it but never listened to that song, I think I just changed it whenever an unknown spoof came on so I just now on the remaster play through heard it,… wow lol

Vice City is my favorite too. Sure, the later games have more content, maybe better voice acting, etc. I love the whole 80s era though, the Miami setting, the Scarface references, and even the talk radio is fuckin' hilarious. Loved the bits with Thor, and then the Pressing Issues skit with the salesman, goth, and anti-despressant girl "All the bunnies are stabbing each other!"

I got into gaming later in life (well MORE gaming that is). .
My first taste of GTA is/was 5. Unfortunately I don't know if I can go backwards and play some of the older ones as I will most likely be disappointed in graphics/gameplay etc.

Sort of wish I got into the series early on.

I'm about to play 5 here in a bit.

Some people have a hard time playing older games because of the tech at the time is so far behind what we have today. Some of these have been remastered/revamped, or if you're on PC you can download mods to pretty them up a bit. Honestly I try to view games in a vaccuum, I remember that the tech at the time was limited and I try to value games based on what was available to the developers at the time. If the story/characters/gameplay all sucked then that's on them. If the graphics are shitty by today's standards but were passable during the time of release then I tend to overlook the difference.

I think there's value in playing Vice City and San Andreas, and San Andreas in particular was recently cleaned up a bit if I remember. They're good games regardless of the fact they were released 20-25 years ago. I can't say the same for the spin offs or some of the other titles.

4 won’t hurt with the graphics at all,… Vice is the most fun one imo tho

for all you gamers i just got the new alice goes to wonderland pinball machine delivered from walmart that has a lot of good reviews on you tube, it is only 80% the size of a full scale stern pinball machine but got it for only $1,200 compared to paying $7,000 plus for a full size that most of us probably can't afford, if you like pinball like me and always wanted a real pinball machine check out review vids on you tube to see how it looks and plays

There are two really great places in my city that have a crap ton of pinball machines. I get my fix there and it gives me an excuse to get out of the house. 🤣

here is the Alice in wonderland pinball that I was talking about that I purchased
That is seriously cool. I still kick myself for selling my Playchoice 10 arcade a few months back. It sadly was just sitting in the garage, I would have loved to get it into my game room.

Back to GTa,… even for that franchise, my biggest hangup with 4 was the social commentary. 4 took it from a funny spoof of elements of modern society or America that all the other games have generally and amp’d it up to a full on attack without the ‘haha’. Whoever was the creative mind behind 4 absolutely wants the world to burn lol… it was a bit much imo. I know many who consider 4 the best one tho so to each their own

4 sucked ass. I couldn't finish it, they sucked the fun out of GTA. Interesting story? Maybe, but it felt like a different game than I was expecting to play. I remember very little of the story other than Nico's cousin was always getting into trouble and he's bailing him out, which is pretty much the plot of every GTA where you have a buddy that's always screwing up...but somehow it was less fun. I think Nico was just too serious, the character felt a little flat.

lol yeah some of the things I hear on the ads on the radio station while playing 5 on crack up laughing ....then I say "wow that was fucked up"

But I have always been the type of guy that laughs first then asks if you're ok. 🤣

I couldn't get into the GTA games but I enjoyed Mafia II quite a bit.
The sneak through the hedges level in mafia (not sure which one) ended that series for me. Idk if I’ve ever had a single quest ruin a game that hard for me. I’ll take The Godfather for that kind of game, incredible

When I was in my 20's and 30's I used to wonder why people played it so much.....now that I'm almost 50 and playing it I know why. lol. Took a bit for me to get into it but this and especially red dead are the games I play the most.

Occasionally I will play Gran Turismo 7 or F-1 2025
