COVID related?

no reason given lol Purdue dealing with their HC getting the Rona and had their request for him to coach remotely, like David Moyes did for West Ham in the EPL but this was denied. He won't be allowed any team contact 90 mins before kickoff

rumor on r/CFB is that he got injured in camp and hasn't recovered 100% yet:

Apparently there is a rumor that he got injured and it is not minor.

EDIT: Did some more digging around and the slightly good news is that this injury apparently occurred early on in camp. He's been participating in practice as far as I'm aware and Purdue is being extremely cautious. I'm just some random dude that is chatting with people, so take it for what it is worth. Now this is me just speculating, but it is possible they just want to give him an extra week to get ready conditioning wise; we really don't know a ton.

He did have a "knock" towards the beginning of their fall camp, according to reddit. Sounds like it's lingering from that

I remember watching him destroy OSU as an underclassman during the spoilermaker special. Crazy to think that was less than a decade ago. RIP.
This. I haven’t followed his pro career but that game was nuts. Very sad

Even in college Rondale was taking a lot of hits and the injuries have been piling up in the NFL as well. I think that took its final toll from him and he was unable to overcome. He was fun to watch, sad to see this happen.

You always wonder about CTE in cases like this. Regardless it’s a tragedy. RIP

It's pretty reckless to speculate about what led a person to take their own life.
It's reckless to judge a person for their actions Or to assume. But obviously it's something that needs to always be looked into for further research purposes.

Agreed on research. I just think chalking up suicide to a person's injury history within 12 hours of it happening is kind of poor form.

One of his friends had already been quoted talking about their conversation shortly before the suicide and his despair regarding another season ending injury. I think it is a realistic perspective to think that played a part in his mental state before killing himself.

It was like he was in a different gear. OSU knew he was going to get the touches and still couldn't get him corralled. RIP young man.
