Kirby sucks so it'll never happen, but if he truly wanted it to stop, he needs to bring in his captains and say "it's time to code red any player that pulls this shit."

Let the locker room handle it.

I don't see any other way.

I’m not absolving Kirby here, but how exactly does he police a hundred 18–22 years olds, half of which are millionaires, 24/7. Not possible without relying heavily on team leadership.

You're not wrong, but this is a program-level problem at this point. It's been consistently an issue at UGA; while there might be isolated incidents at other schools, it's not even close to the level of what's been happening in Athens. And if Kirby didn't have two national championships, there absolutely would be calls to fire him.

I mean, a player died two years ago in a reckless driving-related incident. WTF is going on?

I’m sure it can’t be that hard, as Georgia seems to be the only football program with a chronic problem of wreckless driving and DUIs

It may say more about policing from program to program. Georgia fans might be right - maybe Athens PD enforces the law, while other college towns sometimes turn a blind eye, which isn’t uncommon with athletes in college environments.

I just assume this is happening everywhere given the kinds of cars these kids are driving, but the volume of incidents at Georgia is crazy -no doubt about it. I don’t think Kirby, or any coach, can realistically police this, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t face scrutiny. He makes $10M a year, and scrutiny comes with the job/salary. As a practical matter though, I’m not sure what coaches can actually do to prevent it.
