This is what happens when ND turns entirely to a merit based compensation system. When you take all your Rev Share and give it to the top 30 guys on your roster, then cut the pay to your sophomores down to between $25,000-$50,000 each, when many of them were making between 5x and 10x more than as freshman... You have some guys that are going to be pissed off. And when you're a school like Notre Dame, you're 3rd string guys are coveted at mid tier schools that have money to spend.
That said, it's important to keep things in context. 20/24 players from the 2025 class are still on ND's roster as of this moment, including 6 of the 7 highest ranked kids coming out of high school.
