I have no idea if a line has been posted yet but my guess is Indiana -8.5. This is insane.

I’m pretty convinced Indiana is juiced. Mendoza is at minimum on Adderall.

Miami did not get flagged once vs OSU. Its trip to the championship game seems rather scripted.

My interest in college football is becoming similar to professional wrestling. I know its fake and scripted yet sometimes entertaining…sad really.

IU's gonna beat the soul out of them if they play like they did last night.
They need to clean up the penalties, but Miami’s lines are definitely big and talented enough to control the LOS on both sides. Will they? We’ll see, hopefully either way its a competitive game.

I don’t totally agree with this - talent is so much more spread out nowadays, this team would likely lose to the great teams of 2010-2022. But in this new era, definitely setting a high standard.

I know the term is usually comparative to teams from other years, but personally think it’s comparative to everyone else within that season.

Obviously the current Kennesaw State team would absolutely dog walk the 1945 Army team, but I still consider the 45 Army an all time great team.

IU beat the living piss out of almost everyone they played, and have ran through the playoffs like a damn buzzsaw.

If they win the title game, they are absolutely an all time team.

Miami has talent on both sides of the ball, but is not as disciplined, and Cristobal is their coach, but if they play their best mistake-free ball, they can likely win a close one, kind of like OSU ruining our great 2024 season, but probably much closer.

Its like the NFL before and after FA and the salary Cap
the great teams of the past like the Packers and Steelers and Cowboys would wipe todays teams because you could gather so much talent if your franchise was run well
the Portal and NIL are the same equalizers for College football

ND would, they know they have a terrible schedule in 26.
we cannot afford to start out slow like we have the last two years. That has to end. We cannot afford to lose more than one game next year and that might depend on when it happens

It’s impossible to compare eras.

A hall of fame linebacker from the 60’s would get absolutely trucked by a mediocre current running back, but a modern hall of fame quarterback would have his spine severed first series under old game style and rules.

BYU is currently the only game on the schedule worth watching. The rest of the year is a disgrace. ND 100% needs a big game in there. We totally deserve a national flogging over the schedule next season as it is.

Guess you won't be in the game threads? Regardless, neither school is going to give up a home game for a one-off.

I think it’s more just disappointment that somehow a team like IU could put it all together after decades of never giving a shit about football, while ND has been in the wilderness for close to 40 years. Would just suck
Yeah, I mean, the sport changed. And they hired a good coach. ND spent 30 years not doing that.

Outside of the Irish I have more investment in pro wrestling. Apropos of absolutely nothing related to the playoffs when I went to Wrestlemania in Vegas I wore my ND Sugar Bowl jersey in pictures with Mike Tyson and Toni Storm & had my ND Sugar Bowl hat on when I met Joe Hendry & Stone Cold.

1/4 of the NFL needs a head coach.

Someone is going to make a serious run at Cig.

Early line is IU -7.5 for Miami game

If this year gets a repeating I will confidently say the same

Their play in the trenches to me is at least a little suspicious. Stars matter there, especially on the DL, And they’ve been elite On both sides this year. Certainly is a Stanford under Harbaugh-esque anomaly.

But you can’t fake how damn good Mendoza was tonight. And you can’t fake how great his receivers were either.

Its not that much of a difference to the schedule IU played this year. IU had a lot of overrated teams they played by the beginning of the year stats. Keep our guys healthy next year and play like we belong. Keep the ship In Indiana

Stars from recruiting services literally do not matter. Holy cope in this thread LOL

They’re definitely a great team, I just don’t think they’re any better than a lot of other undefeated national champions. They’re just not talented enough to be in that all-time category - that sort of moniker is reserved for only truly memorable teams in my mind.

2019 LSU is really the only recent all-timer team I think. 2020 Bama and 2018 Clemson have arguments, and maybe 2022 UGA. This IU team is more like the 2023 Michigan team to (minus the cheating)

What I will say is - Cignetti is the best coach in the country bar none. The job he’s doing is truly unprecedented and generationally impressive.

Surely the Cig will lose half his coaching staff. See how he goes when that starts happening.
That is what screwed ND this year - if Golden was DC we'd likely be 12-0.
