I'm saying again I would take a FR getting experience and throwing a pick 6 over a 6th year Pyne throwing pick 6s and getting strip sacked with no upside at all. Your now comparing him to Atkinson who's an average talent who had a productive year at Mercer? It's a significant difference in competition and talent, against his two best/notable opponents he went 38/72 for 356yds 1 TD 6 INT! So yes, I would rather develop the "in house" FR talent instead of bringing in a lesser talented RS FR.

I followed Atkinson extensively this year as I'm a long-time friend of Beau Brungard's family. The only two FCS QB's I would even look at are Cole Payton and Beau. Beau is Riley Leonard with accuracy, but not the biggest NFL arm. Atkinson played a powder puff schedule at Mercer. His last two games against Auburn and South Dakota tell the real story (1td, 6 int).

Gilliam + Onye by themselves would be a really solid set of starters imo. I still think Jayson can get drafted with another year of development. He has the size and athleticism of a mid round pick. For his sake hope he gets another year.

I honestly wouldn’t mind if 90% of their portal adds were on the DL. They are CFP/championship caliber at every other position, besides DL and K.

Back in the day, I used to be able to watch practice from a recumbent bike in ROLFs. Worked for the entire Weis era and at least the early part of the Kelly era.
