Side note: Pete should be having a "productive meeting" with his friends at the ACC where the only statement is "I will suspend my coach when that officiating crew is terminated. Until then, we will ignore any suspension handed down from the conference. If no termination is announced, we will view that as another instance of this conference working contrary to our interests, and will proceed with that in mind."

I'll go ahead and modify this for the nitpickers. The conference doesn't "hire" the refs. But they do assign them. The conference can absolutely say "we will not assign these officials to our games going forward." They can go into the pool for all the other conferences to use.

Bad call aside, you needed two wins on the west coast after shitting the bed with a bad loss to PFW. Your team went 16 - 26 from the FT line. He has done nothing to show that he is a coach that can adjust and win at a consistent level.

The biggest issue is I’m apathetic to these types of results. It’s expected. Our basketball programs (both, at this point) may as well not even exist.

Shrews’s frustration should mostly be at the dude he sees in the mirror.

Since ND hired Shrews there hasn't been a voice on the basketball team as a leader- he should watch videos of Grant, Connaughton, Colson.

I am OK with a coaching standing up for his team, but one has to think what if coach Shrews wasn't stopped last night by team members?

A BS call, with no contact between Shrews and the ref that I saw- no suspension needed in my opinion.

Take this loss out on our next opponent.

They didn’t seem like obvious fouls. Wrap him up and make it obvious.

I will say this, the foul is upsetting. The reverse reversal is upsetting.

Micah chasing a ref down the tunnel is not okay though.

And fielding a team that can't hit the broad side of the barn is definitely not okay. Two five star kids on the court and they are horrendous shooters from the field and the line. Nobody that can responsibly bring up the ball and run the offense is an embarrassment as well. We genuinely need Zackery to come on and be able to run the offense. Why is there not one competent point man or ball handler on the team outside of Burton?

All of this comes down to Shrewsberry at this point.

I'll wait to see how we wrap up the season, but he shouldn't be able to put his cheeks down his seat should be so hot.

And don't get me started on Ivey....

I’m beginning to wonder about Shrews. We should be seeing improvement at this time and it’s evident we aren’t. His outburst may be a reflection of him failing to show some advancement.

ACC officiating is just as bad in basketball as it is in football but its not like we were a lock to win without the shitty call. Shot went in to tie and we bricked final shot with 5.5 seconds and a TO to score 2. Took 3 seconds to get TO at half court. 2.4 seconds is a lot of time to get a good look - drive hard and give the refs a chance for a make up foul call. Nope - Shrewsberry rushed top of key 3 point jumper. That is what coach should be asked about.

Very frustrating that our raw talent seems lightyears ahead of where Brey left us only to have a complete cluster of a team on the court. This feels like rec league, roll the ball out and watch the kids play non-existent coaching.

To be fair, I have never been a Shrews fan (nepo starter rubbed me wrong from the start).

ND should be a desirable career coaching gig. You can get away with mediocrity for a long time here. Just don't be a complete moron.

Discouraging game. Experienced and well coached team just takes us apart on our home floor. Some talent but not converting to effective team play.
Shrews bashing will ensue. I not impressed but roster will be gutted again if we can him, we have to stop with the rinse and repeat cycle of turning over the entire program.
Yeah I know other teams do it but we can’t unless we start taking undergrad transfers. And finding those who don’t want to “ play school” will be tough.
So keep him and hope time will get this bunch to play like a team.

The talent is lacking and they don't seem to be improving from year to year. Other than opportunities for playing time, I don't know why anyone would commit to ND right now.
