Williams played on the outside at ISU. Seems like a depth move to pair with Moore & Gray.
I thought that too. Maybe he wants ND as he sees the writing on the wall...and he comes cheap to be a part of it.Seems like an interesting use of transfer $ when you're loaded in house at the position. Maybe they see it as an enhancement? I'd still rather save every drop of the defensive NIL fund on dline though
They have to buy players on offense too....ND has enough to do both. Like I said, their transfer portal budget is likely $6+ million after Schrauth reportedly turned down more than $1 million to go pro, Wagner turned down high six figures to go pro and Price reportedly turned down $2 million to go pro. That extra money can now be spent in the portal. If ND can get 2 defensive tackles and a defensive end for $3 million'ish, they still have at least half of their Portal budget left to spend.
The way you worded it though 😂🤣🤣They have to buy players on offense too....
Wasn’t he also the recruit that actively recruited Keeley on social media and in person to Bama?Hear me out on Richard Young guys, because he makes a lot of sense for Notre Dame.
1. It was reported last week that ND was looking at a running back that was still on a playoff team's roster. That was before Alabama was eliminated.
2. Notre Dame highly recruited Young out of high school and Young was genuinely interested in ND (even visited) before ultimately selecting Alabama.
3. Young is from Florida, where JaJuan Seider has deep connections and recruited him heavily out of high school.
4. Young is, apparently, an excellent student, from an awesome family and would be a great cultural fit for ND, hence why he liked his visit so much in high school.
5. Young has 2 years of eligibility remaining and would be a solid veteran addition to the running back room. He'd also be relatively cheap because his production has be limited at Alabama. Notre Dame is not likely looking to spend significant money at the RB position in order to add a body and the top tier guys are all super expensive this cycle. This could be a "buy low" guy that Seider thinks he can get more out of.

They love bringing in Nickelbacks in the portal. It’s a position that you want an experienced guy at with a particular skill set and physical profile. Williams is almost certainly going to play that spot in this defense.Williams played on the outside at ISU. Seems like a depth move to pair with Moore & Gray.
Yes it is.Wasn’t he the RB that Freeman drove around in a Ferrari with on a visit?
The math adds up...They have to buy players on offense too....
Their OL and DL have not been very good for a couple of years.Bama was horrible at running this year.

Bama and the SEC generally are just going to be in the wilderness for a bit until the powers that be can get this NIL wild west situation under control and reinstitute a system where the primary leverage comes in the form of cheating.Their OL and DL have not been very good for a couple of years.
On a separate point with Bama, based on DeBoer's post game comments, he appears to be completely oblivious to their problems. I realize he's not going to say "we stink and didn't belong on that field," but to say there is a fine line between where they are and being elite is either dishonest or he just doesn't know what elite looks like. After the 2012 BCS beating, there weren't a lot of folks who said "we're right there with Bama." It was clear and obvious there was a substantial gap between that ND team and that Bama team, and anyone who watched what Bama was putting out there this season could see the same for them.
Forgive me for asking: projecting $7M on 10 dudes in the portal. So…the cap is $21M for ALL SPORTS? ND in other words would use 1/3 of their budget for 10 FB players? I think FB should get the whole budget—it actually makes money—but even if the $21M was just football, ND would only have $14M to spread across the other 90 football players? Ouch. 1/3 of budget on 10% of your roster and the holdovers probably pissed. What a weird time in college sports.
This doesn't mean that ND is not also still communicating with him, but it makes you wonder if maybe Alex VanSumeren is the B1G DT that folks were talking about.
Bosco kid we offered out of HS:

Regardless of the better place, he would probably just want to get moved to a different place.Hopefully he transferred out to a better place.
Is IU football officially a thing? Incredible what Cig and admin support has been able to do overnight.
Player compensation is the product of both Rev Share and NIL. The Rev Share conponent is capped and has to be divided between each school in support of their respective athletic departments. Meanwhile, NIL is essentially unlimited and is designed to supplement Rev Share in order to round out compensation.Forgive me for asking: projecting $7M on 10 dudes in the portal.
