Teams (the superior teams) with byes now 0-6?
It is interesting.
Only OSU lost as a sizeable favorite, though. The other teams with byes were either underdogs or the spread was 1 or 2 or something. (I believe were were a 1 point underdog to UGA last year? Or 1 point favorite. Don't remember.) IU and UGA games will tell us more about that.

Yeah, but it is the matchups. Last year was the terrible seeding. This year, Miami over OSU isn't shocking and everyone knows Texas Tech is a fraud. It's not like the higher seeds have been suffering shocking upsets.
Yep, just more proof this CFP is broken and needs fixing!!

Agree. But I think this still says something.

Last year they (rightfully) adjusted by changing the collection of teams that could get the BYE. It was a bad format.

I think Texas Tech shows that going undefeated in a bad conference shouldn’t necessarily be enough. A team’s current form and strength should be less of a factor than “most deserving”.

In general, how good a team looks come selection Sunday isn’t being weighted enough (I blame the shit committee). This is also how Oklahoma and Bama got to cost into the playoffs.

I hope Tech scores the same amount of points as ND today. Wonder if Tech’s coach will bring up ND in his presser.

These type of performances are the tipping point for NIL

Camp A will think: WE NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY NEXT YEAR

Camp B will think: DAFUQ DID WE JUST WASTE ALL THAT MONEY ON?

Normal people don’t understand how unbelievably cheap rich people are. They don’t just throw money around unless it nets some sort of return.

Right, the issue is primarily that the seeds are way off. Last year you had Boise State as the #3 seed and Arizona State as the #4 seed. Then you had eventual national champ Ohio State win, and you had ND beat Georgia.

Then this year the Miami game is the only one that is an upset. Oregon was favored. So it's really only one "anomaly" style game for Miami over Ohio State.

ESPN talks about Bama like it’s still the late 2010s under Saban. Bama doesn’t have the size or speed they had in the past and haven’t for several years.

Very satisfying that dumb hick Landman extra HC for TT got thumped. Couldn't have happened to a better coach or quite frankly, a better fanbase. Tech looked slow and unathletic the entire game. The fact this team ripped through the B12 like a buzzsaw says a lot about the conference. An actual G5 team looked better than Tech did against Oregon.

McGuire on the sideline with 2 minutes left looking like he is going to need to address the media about ND and being in a conference.
"Hey Coach, after scoring the same number of points as Notre Dame in the bowl season despite them playing zero bowl games, do you think it was a good use of your time to worry about what their conference affiliation is or isn't? In hindsight, do you think it would have been better to, I don't know, shut the fuck up and worry about your team?"

I don’t know how much of a factor it’ll be for IU losing one of their best DL but the way this year has gone, it’d be about right for Bama to find a way to advance to the semis after all of ND Nation was up in arms about them at least not dropping a spot after mailing it in their final few games. So I’ll pick Bama to win w/ the hopes that IU embarrasses them.

Fucking preach! Couldn’t give two shits about the Ducks but Joey McGuire going out of his way to take shots at ND make me a Ducks fan today. So glad Lanning rammed it down their throat for that last unnecessary TD. Too bad Dave Fleming wasn’t in the booth to cry about Oregon running up the score. Bitch.
