Singleton from Ga Tech hasn’t declared for the draft yet. Not really a boundary fit but would be a luxury.

Perry Thompson was the big name recruit besides Coleman but I doubt.

Someone like Horatio Fields who was a Wake transfer would be the easy answer but that would be depth.
Do they really need any more depth? I would think they’re going all in on guys that will be clear number 1 options.

Singleton from Auburn would make a lot of sense considering he was at GT prior and probably wants to end on a better note than what he put up this year.

I actually think you're going to be surprised at how close ND's portal outcome is to this.

- I think ND lands a Marsh, Duff, Coleman level boundary WR.

- I think ND lands AT LEAST 1 starting caliber and 1 quality rotational DT, with Mateen Igbirogba or better caliber player as the starter.

- I think ND kicks tires with a RB and takes one if they feel that player can compliment Williams, without breaking the bank. There are 4 or 5 options out there that they could look at.

- I 100% believe they'll land a top 25'ish kicker, who has a history of kicking at a high percentage.

- I'm unsure if they'll go after a nickel, or focus on bringing along their sophomores and talented freshman to supplement what should be amongst the best starting secondaries in the country.

- Backup QB will simply depend on fit and desire to play. If they can find the right role guy, they'll definitely take him.

- I also think they'll kick tires with portal Tight Ends to see if a top notch guy will bite and the same is true of edge rusher IF Burnham leaves.

With Freeman re-signed and back from vacation and ready to refruit the portal hard, I think you'd be crazy to believe that ND won't land impact players at their positions of need. ND is well aware of how close they were last year, this year and what they have coming back next year. They're using their money wisely to create some excellent portal incentives with rev share and I think NIL will come through meaningfully.
Sounds good and Edge rusher is a must at this point....Hope your right, unfortunately we aren't landing any Cam Coleman's but maybe we can get a Duff or Marsh.

Coleman is better. I would say Marsh is same tier.
Both are a bit better but Fields was a good WR. I think Marsh has slightly better talent and Coleman has ELITE talent (#2 In Class behind Jeremiah Smith)...Landing Coleman would be a dream a la Michael Floyd while Marsh would be sufficient but landing neither caliber would be a disappointment.

Personally I think that Duff is closer to Coleman than he is to Marsh, and is the most likely to commit here.

Based on what? He's a huge body who dominated nobodies but was absent against any noticable name aside from Penn St. ( Who was terrible this year) 23 rec 558yds 4 TDs against (Norfolk St, Miami of Oh, Purdue and Penn St)....He's a solid player with great sizebut Marsh/Coleman type of player he is not

Could we use a DL upgrade here? Is only a Freshman and we were on his radar last year, but I believe we were dropped due to transcript issues, so probably not realistic.

Honestly, my wants are DT1, DT 2, SDE (gap), DT 3 (big gap), WR.

We lost our 3 starting DTs (4 if Onye is denied) and no one on the roster is an obvious replacement. And this was already the weakest position group on defense with those 4. Unless it’s a day 2 WR I really don’t care until we have 3 DTs signed.

We go play Georgia with this interior and the seasons over.

Agreed, he doesn’t look explosive like marsh or Coleman on film

Marsh and Duff both had subpar QB play(even though the Rutgers Qb was slightly better), Duff also had more competition with getting touches to to Raymond and Ian Strong, who had 750 yards last year, and still managed to put up 1k.

Burnham to the portal.
Sampson asked some Miami (Ohio) folks about DE Adam Trick, who is currently in the portal, and was told that he'd be a good fit at ND. He didn't say if ND was looking at him, though. Trick had multiple Ivy league offers out of HS and is from Ohio.

Burnham is going to get paid more elsewhere to be an every down player. Makes sense to me.

Billy S is the only one I think is making a poor decision so far.

This one and Billy S make no sense to me. Billy's not going to get drafted high and he'd have made good money at ND. These two are very painful.
Prister touched on Billy and said he just doesn't understand the decision to declare for the draft. He said a former ND OL Coach (almost certainly Harry) thinks it's a bad decision.

Yeah it's not a good decision. Could get good money here and could really use another year of development. He got questionable advice from people around him during the recruiting process and methinks he got bad advice here again.
