Who we go after if Marcus leaves? Not saying it will happen but I think that if you’re saying it’s impossible you may be a little blinded by hope.

Nothing surprises me because we don’t actually know these people. But Marcus leaving with ND on the brink of something truly special might just kill my love of this stupid sport for good. Like what’s the point of investing energy into getting edged every season?

Marcus leaving with every possible candidate on the table hurts ND because I think he’s the best coach in the business and you can’t upgrade from him. Marcus leaving with every candidate already off the board actually destroys the program.

Maybe odds respond to clickbait articles, but Freeman is the betting favorite on Kalshi now

$275k total volume implies the total difference between Freeman and Hafley is a total of $12000 in bets. I wouldn't read too much into it at this point.

Prediction markets don't have any insider trading rules, you can't read into equities in low volume trades- large swings in percentages AND volume are much more significant tells.

Having everything setup for success at ND and having the school/AD asking what else is needed to compete, it's hard to imagine he's in such a hurry to go to the Giants where the likelihood of success is much, much lower.

I'll be truly stunned if this is the career move he's looking to make right now. He's on the precipice.

I'd really appreciate a moment-by-moment updating odds tracker on the homepage. Can someone set that up?

The only thing I disagree with is he is not the best coach yet. Otherwise, we would have won our first two games. He is absolutely the best coach for us and has incredible potential because he has drive and can motivate young people. If we are thinking long term and he is cynical enough to take an NFL job when we are on the cusp, the business reality is that it only hurts his brand with us Notre Dame fans. The rest of football hates us and will embrace Freeman with open arms unless he starts losing badly.

I don’t want to hear about fucking odds/bets ever again… Notre Dame being -3500 to make the CFP moments before the selection show was the end all, be all for me.

With that said, get this extension signed. Too many sharks in the water. If Freeman doesn’t want to be extended, then that will tell us all we need to know about his future in South Bend.

Worst case you just go out and grab Clark Lea.

I think the Giants thing is in the past at this point. Pretty sure Freeman realizes that job isn't in a good spot right now. Maybe if the Ravens or Steelers opened up...

Are you actually a Notre Dame fan?

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and you just appear. Or just a dedicated Michigan, OSU etc fan?
Just being a realist. EVERYONE who knows ball on this board knew we wouldn’t be shafted out of the playoffs but we were. EVERYONE who knows ball on this board knows Freeman isn’t leaving yet we have more than just random nobodies with a podcast saying Freeman is the leading candidate for the Giants. Don’t be surprised when he takes that job & we go back to the mid 00’s with the state of our program unless we pull a huge rabbit out of the hat with a coaching hire.

He found his niche on the board. Be a consummate asshole for attention. This is bigger than ND for his existence.

Edit: I thought you were referring to Eville 😂

Edit 2: You were. Rudy89 just volunteered himself. 🤣

It’s not being a realist it’s being a doomsday shit poster who takes joy seemingly in potential of bad things happening.

Real question. Do you think Lea would leave Vandy for ND? I'm not so sure, personally. I suppose if we made him an offer he can't refuse, but I still have doubts.

Every "realist" is just a cynical pessimist who identifies as something else.

I don’t have social media accounts so I largely avoid the most off the wall slop.

Anyhow, an article I read about a week or two ago regarding the top candidates for the open jobs listed all NFL coordinators.

Not a single mention of Freeman.

Eville, I believe, is friends with the Kiser family? Wasn't he all over the recruitment and support? Way back machine is needed.

Chris Ash for head coach if worst comes to worst? His redemption arc was solid.
