TBH, I'm not sure criticism of Pete is warranted. While all of us would love to see a public flogging of ESPN and the CFPC, I have to believe he will take care of business behind the scenes much like Jack did. He will make things public when warranted.

I jokingly said we should join the ACC last week, but is that such a bad idea? The path to the playoffs would be pretty easy and difficult for the committee to leave us out given we would win it damn near every year.
We would, but the football itself would be so damn boring.

I imagine though Pete is going to be doing his job falling on the sword until next week at the minimum when the award shows on Mickey's network start and Marcus will be possibly be in attendance. Unless he's thinking over whether he's taking the Giants or Steelers job.

I think its going to be different. I dont see him falling on the sword, I really do see him picking it up. Pete is a power player in this market and he is a fighter compared to Jack. I believe you will some interesting things coming that will shock some people. Notre Dame has held the wrench in the college football landscape for a very long time and the world seems to forget that. I might be time to throw it.

Don’t get excited, guys.

We aren’t getting scorched earth, or even a light searing.

There is nothing in Bevacqua’s history to suggest he’s going to do anything other than politically correct pandering, and perhaps maybe one coy comment. This will be milquetoast.

If he says that the relationship between SEC / Disney / CFP is too close to be considered “independent”, what happens? No college official has had the balls to say this yet.
The difference between the opinions of people on Fox and ESPN/ABC was striking. And this was Leinart, Ingraham, etc., not just Brady Quinn. You have to apply Occam's razor at some point.

think this is where Pete is going to attack first this or the ACC. The fact that the rankings show has deliberately misinformed teams throughout, and their announcers for the past three weeks in games have always been lobbying for Miami even though the topic is unrelated to the games being played. Also dont get me started on how the Miami ND game was playing non stop on the ACC network for the past several days.

I'm going to expect little out of this and hope I'm wrong. Would love for some angry rally the troops statement attacking the establishment, but would prolly be spun by the media to make it worse before better

It takes months of planning to make any sweeping change and it would take even longer to execute. If I were Pete, I would point out the obvious hypocrisy between BYU and Bama, the process itself and the lack of transparency and end it with ND will continue to evaluate the landscape and current partnerships to make decisions that are in the best interest of the program.

That alone will raise eyebrows without saying anything too direct. I just hope he uses the term bonus game to describe turning down bowl invites. It would be deliciously petty.

Not getting my hopes up after yesterday. And all Neuheisel knows how to do is complain that “ND gets to hand pick their own schedule”. He’s a damn attorney & former P4 HC & that’s the best he has on a weekly basis?!

I don’t know how productive it is to go scorched earth. We are still partners with the ACC at the end of the day for at the very least next few years.

It's a one bid/G7 league. Join a better conference

He was on Wake Up Barstool just now. Nothing earth shattering.

ND could get out of the football deal, there is no grant of rights. There is a grant of rights for the olympic sports, but the buyout isn't near the value as football GORs.

ND would need to have a plan in place with the B10 ideally to take the olympic sports and do a similar football scheduling arrangement.

Why would the B10 agree to that though? Well ND membership is a zero sum game. Any and every conference wants ND because 1. they print money and 2. it keeps ND out of the other conferences.

I don't think this is happening; it's more likely ND will flirt with the B10 while the ACC sits in the cuck chair and hopes ND comes back to them. But it depends on whether the relationship is salvageable. John Brice has been saying this is a cold war situation and ND is on the brink.

obviously don't do anything just blindly, but if they have a well thought out bulletproof plan that benefits us(or at least doest hurt) and fucks them, then by all means why not?

Tomorrow is going to be a nothing burger, because right now anything other than we are dumping the ACC is going to feel like one to me.

College football called our bluff with the independence thing and waited for the best team to possibly win it since '93 to fuck us. Read the room, admit we had a great run at this 'doing it ourselves' stuff and join the B1G team.

It's no longer regionally landlocked, so that excuse is done. Plus we are built to take advantage of the upcoming 4 guaranteed spots in the playoffs thing, as the rest of the conference is still trying to get used to the travel stuff. Something our independence has prepared us well for.

No Cold War, I want the ICBMs launched.
