IU thrives on people looking at the logo on their helmet and laughing. I’m not sure what else they need to do this season to be taken seriously.

Their mid level players were outplaying 1st rounders. Sorry I don’t believe in fairy tales. Overnight Indiana has turned into a juggernaut with mid level players. You don’t go 0 to 100 at this level. Even Saban took years. That program is Lance Armstrong fishy.

Annoyingly, this should really say since 2022, but you’re absolutely right they are legit. We do know OSU has another gear for the playoffs as evidenced by what we saw last year and how Day has described their planning process and strategic approach to winning a national title which absolutely includes leaving as much in the tank as possible until knockout rounds.
I hope ND has another gear and focuses on the task at hand here. If they are locked in no one beats us. Bask in the hate and go kick ass!

I’m sure this has been answered but how did Duke make it in the championship game over Miami? Was the first tiebreaker alphabetical order? I can’t see another reason why they would have made it over Georgia Tech or Miami.

Georgia Tech and Miami had weaker conference SOS. Their conference SOS each had like .42 win percentage

Miami can blab about H2H, the ACC doesn’t even use it as their first tiebreaker (Ga Tech beat Duke).

This is how it should be, but I suspect the power players Bama have more shady back room pull than the Canes.
I agree, but I'm starting to think the info is getting out...and that info is Bama is done.

You know what I’ve been thinking about, in years past when the cut line involved a high power rated SEC team, I felt like Kirk Herbstreit would always distance from the resumes and emphasize it’s the best teams.

Wonder why he hasn’t been singing that tune this year
I believe it was him (or another ESPN analyst) who said "deserve has got nothing to do with it" re: FSU getting left out 2 years ago. Now all I hear on ESPN is that Miami "deserves" to be in or now Alabama "doesn't deserve to be punished."

I don’t think anyone is a juggernaut. That being said, Indiana is as good as anyone in the top 10.
That's my thing. It's the playoffs, every team is good (not you JMU/Tulane/Duke) for the most part. Any of the top 8 teams could beat ND, but we could beat any of them. There is no 2011/12 Alabama or 2019 LSU in the field.

I was also partying and not able to pay much attention to the B10 championship, but I see Mendoza won the Heisman last night. Was he amazing in a 13 point effort?

Can someone explain this? Are we a nation of upcoming morons or robots with prejudices so deep that they create "reality" in the face of what is brick-in-the-face contrary fact? How terrifyingly programmed is this ... whatever we are?

He was fine. Hit a huge 3rd down throw late in the game.
Good for him, he's pretty likeable. The main thing I remember from last night is multiple people calling Day a P*ssy...what was that all about?

As a big Freeman guy, I never like hearing anything bad about Ryan Day...lol

O Fuck Off. You actually think coaching can transform a bunch of 3 stars into a juggernaut overnight. Over F’n nite. I have more respect for that sleeve bag Brian big game Kelly than this charlatan Cignetti.

I would love to see a 16 game match up between the SEC and Big 10 instead of a 9th conference game. The SEC would be terrified because it could destroy their narrative that they are the best. Shoot, even SEC against ACC and Big 10 against Big 12.

Which is better because the stakes are lower. If Michigan or USC got left out this year, who cares? Neither team is winning a national title. My problem with the current set up is it doesn't ensure that every team with a conceivable possibility to win a title gets in and imo that should be the sole purpose of a playoff in college football. 16 would ensure that. There will always be debate, but I'm less sympathetic to teams 15-18 sitting there with 3 losses (or two really bad losses) pounding the table. This year has taught me that a team with a real championship potential could be left out and I'd rather have too many teams in than not enough.
Literally people said the same exact thing if it got expanded from 4 to 12. No matter how many teams are in there will be complaining, look at March Madness people complaining that someone got left out of the field of 68.

I feel bad for Miami , they were so inexperienced with playoff talk, they didn’t realize they were being played into arguing against ND this whole time.
