Why wouldn't they? The ACC brought this upon themselves.

You can't drop a team for losing in the CCG in favor of a team that's IDLE, in addition you can't raise a team up that loses.

It's set up where Alabama is protected regardless, and it maximizes the chances that ND gets in, as BYU is expected to lose the Tech game.
Where is this from? Not being argumentative, just curious.

Where are you finding these rules? It’s all made up and the committee will do what the powers that be ultimately want. I don’t agree with it.

It just coincides with what the committee believes is important 'that week'.... because if I heard right, they said the 4th and 2 decision and running plays over Auburn is what made them jump ND....... because the week before, ND beat Syracuse 70-7 and Alabama beat the mighty Eastern Illinois University 56-0 who is ranked next to last in the FCS, OVC-Big South Division.

Guys it's a coordinated media blitz by stakeholders in the SEC/ACC to get Notre Dame out. None of this is particularly complicated. We have been consistently ranked #9 by the media, coaches, and computers (higher by some computers) and the reason for the "vibe shift" is strictly political. Accept it and move on.

The *only* weird thing is that ND is still -500 to be in. I say that's weird because Vegas knew WELL before the "vigorous debate" that Alabama was jumping us and was a lock. Like it absolutely leaked out well before Tuesday what was happening, that's how you know things are not above board.

we're out. SEC bias is real. All of our favorite saturday morning cartoon characters (David, Saban, Herbie, McAfee, Desmond) are all complicit.

as long as you have auto bids you will have this mess

there are recognized metrics that pretty much make everything by the numbers if you want to pick the best teams
Agreed.
Did you not factor this into your various comments 6 weeks ago when you messed up?

People talking about the committee's "rules"- there are no rules. They will just do something, and then come up with a justification. Do I want to eat another piece of Christmas cake, or not? If I do? Well, it's Christmas. If I don't? I'm on a diet. Etc.
Yep. If it's the regular season, Notre Dame is better than Alabama. If it's conference championship week, Bama's the better team, because we can't drop a blue blood out of the tournament in case they lose an extra game and another team in a different conference wins one. Makes sense.

IrishLax gets it. Also, my brother believes Vegas is right 100% of the time, so the -500 is going to come true. He's wrong....we are out

If ND was in the ACC, their combined opponent win percentage is .4375.

This is the exact same percentage as Miami, which got them left out of the championship game. If you add NDs ACC record to Miami’s it’s still below Duke.

That’s how easy their schedule was.

Let’s do it

ND should take up that offer including playing at their ground to sweeten the deal. It would upset the SEC but ND should be talking Vandy out of the SEC anyway.
This would be a more interesting/competitive game than 60% of the CCGs.

Wait, you think we're out???
Yep. If BYU loses, they bump Miami next to us, and then have their stupid head-to-head "reason" to bump us out for Miami. Them putting Bama in-front of us set this up. Bama losing means nothing, but BYU losing means everything. It's so obvious...regardless of what these fucking hillbilly SEC hacks say on television on Tuesday nights.

I almost care more about Miami being left out for being assholes and to fuck with the ACC then I care about ND being in. That's how annoying these people are.
So true. Zero chance I want those smug pricks to have the satisfaction of saying shit like "sanity finally prevailed" and shit about "justice." If we can't win it's good enough for my cold heart that Miami loses.

Imagine being a person on the CFP with an ENTIRE Central Nervous System and potentially allowing yourself to be swayed by…Miami…their “media”…their “fanbase”…and their “conference.”

I’m not going to be dishonest and say that I don’t even want to be a part of that type of playoff…because I do…but man if we got left out of a playoff in this manner then we’ll serve as the catalyst for change in this whole deal while Miami gets their crap pushed in in the first round.

Exactly.

Who the hell did Miami play that he thinks “hurt” their offensive output numbers?

It’s pretty simple in regards to Miami and ND since their game in week 1:

1) All Miami had to do was not lose twice. They had a gimme loss if they needed one because they beat ND. But they couldn’t even clear that low bar. And that’s without playing a single team better than Texas A&M, USC or hell, even Navy.

2) For ND to even have a sniff of the playoffs after starting 0-2, they not only had to win every game but they had to dominate. They have won 10 straight games by double digits with most over by halftime.

3) Notre Dame did what they had to do which was with no margin of error. Miami didn’t clear their low bar of just not losing to TWO unranked teams.

A season is not a week 1 game. There’s a reason why you play 12.

I don't understand how the H2H isnt already factored into the current ranking - it should be. It feels like silly logic. Double counting.

what did I mess up? I said I was sure they were in
and I still believe it
I will admit I was mistaken in the integrity and honesty of the committee
