Damn. He was my favourite head coach on that whole series. Didn’t take any shit, and could give it out a little bit too, but he had a much more holistic approach to coaching and the development of young men than Tobacco Chewer Buddy Stevens at EMCC, or that loudmouth Jason Brown at Indy.

Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff has died at age 81. I remember seeing The Harder They Come early in my freshman year of college and for a small town kid from Middle America who had only heard generic AM radio, it was a musical revelation. Became a big fan of rocksteady and early reggae because of that movie. Still have all my Toots and the Maytals cds!

I went to his IMDB because I couldn't figure out who he was in Armageddon, wanted to see what else he may be known for. He's been in a lot of German films. It looks like he's portrayed Hitler on 3 different occasions which is surprising, but maybe more so the first was in 1989, then the last in 2023. That's a kind of crazy spread, playing the same role 30+ years apart.

Sad news today from the music world. Legendary guitarist Steve Cropper of Stax Records, Booker T. & The M.G’s, and The Blues Brothers fame has passed away at the age of 84. Cropper's no frills, tasteful playing on a Telecaster was such a huge part of the Memphis sound and countless hits in the '60s and '70s. He was greatly admired and respected by other legendary guitarists such as Clapton, Beck, Page, and Richards.

Lost Angeles news sources are reporting a couple have been found dead in the home of Rob Reiner. No names or cause of death announced yet, but the ages for the deceased match Reiner and his wife.

Just really odd reporting. If you know the ages of these two people, then you know if it's the owner and his wife or not.. Have no idea why they wouldn't confirm or refute that it's Reiner.

Apparently the bodies were found with knife wounds, and the case is likely going to be treated as a homicide.

Their son has a long history of drug issues and homelessness and rehab stints. He has supposedly been arrested for the murder of his parents, though I saw a report that said he's not in custody but being sought. Man, what a messed up situation.

TMZ is reporting that they had their throats slit by family member. Daughter told the police it was their their son. RIP Rob & Michele.
