Roasted in the comments, we had almost the same number of viewers playing G5 Navy as a Texas Tech vs. BYU

...and it didn't include any numbers from Peacock.
well, there was streaming as well for both games
But it is telling that watching ND play a team that was almost certainly going to get wiped got almost as many TV viewers as two ranked teams fighting to stay in the hunt for the playoffs

9 in the coaches Poll.

Jumped by the Sooners, Bama behind ND

Expected the Sooners jump, but surprised that Alabama dropped 6 and they didn't keep them right in front of us. Hopefully we stay at 9 in the other polls.

Play on a neutral field, who would Vegas favor?

ND would be dogs vs OSU and maybe GA. IU and T&M would probably be a pick ‘em.

Bama has the best win and being lower than ND only makes sense if you weigh good losses over good wins and/or think ND's eye test is better. I don't think ND is clearly better on eye test, but I haven't watched a ton of Bama

I think ND should be at 10.

This is not Sabans Alabama dude; get used to it. The Committee knows it; you need to learn it

Oh stfu, I've been clear that I'm not taking eye test into account. Bama beat Kirby's Georgia and is the best win so far this year.

ND would be favored over everyone except Ohio State and maybe Indiana/Oregon. It would be a tight line with with Oregon, Texas Tech, and Georgia.

I know I am biased, but my eye test ND is better. They are a more well rounded team with fewer weaknesses.

As you say, eye test is in the eye of the beholder. It's why I want ND to blow these teams out, but I'm not using it until the games are played.

Bama isn't better than nd. That name brand isn't the same as it used to be. Bama is a bad match up for Georgia with their lack of pass rush and they give up the big play but in context of how good bama is they should be behind us

Yup, there are no stats/metrics that say they are better than ND. They also don't have more talent.

Personally I think ND should be over both Oklahoma and Bama but the real kick in the nuts would be if they put them below both of them. In the middle is fine from a playoff projection perspective, behind both of them puts us in an awkward spot for "bid thief" scenarios.

Oklahoma didn’t even look that great yesterday. Bama just pissed down their leg

Bama had a 95%+ chance of winning that game but turned it over 3 times and missed kicks. They outgained Oklahoma by like 200 yards.

Oklahoma's offense is total ass and they should probably have 3+ losses at this point.

Looking closer at the AP votes we were very close to Oklahoma and had reasonable distance on Bama so hopefully CFP committee looks at it similar.

Being a 13.5 point favorite and losing by 14 isn’t a blowout?
I don't gamble on sports, so I don't really pay attention to how teams perform vs. the lines. I also do not think losing by 2 TDs is a blow out. Did IU blow out Oregon when they won by 15?

They beat Georgia after they lost to FSU. You guys can keep talking about the eye test while I continue to talk about record and wins because I do not know enough to use the eye test.

I do think it's interesting how quickly this board adopted the eye test after railing against it for years. Yes, I know it's not necessarily the same posters

Advanced Metrics Round-Up (Where Updated):

Generally we gained ground this week as we outperformed expectations against Pitt. We remain about a 4-5 pt dog to OSU on a neutral field, but essentially a coin flip against anyone else.

DokterEntropy: #3 (4pt off IU and OSU who are essentially tied at 1)
Sargarin: #4 (only .39 off of #2 IU, ~4pt off #1 OSU)
TeamRankings.com: #3 (essentially tied with #4 Oregon, 5pts off #1 OSU)
ESPN FPI: #5 (essentially tied with UGA at 4, 5 off #1 OSU)

DokterEntropy has been the “most predictive” so far this year fwiw.

If we aren’t going to get a home game, you’d want to play at OU / Ole Miss who’d we be favored against by 5-8 pts on a neutral field.

I fully expect Oklahoma to drop one of the last two games of the year. Offensively they are not good and are overrated as a defense
