I know there was some discussion on if there were any other QBs we'd want other than CJ at the moment, didn't know if to put here or talking heads thread:

Reranking all 68 Power 4 QBs: Who rose and who fell after two months
I take some exception to Gunner Stockton being ahead of CJ, other than that it's whatever. I will say, I wouldn't actually take any of those QBs ahead of him on the list over CJ other than maybe Sayin, once you factor in age and remaining eligibility. For one season, I mean I like Haynes King but he always feels like he's one lowered shoulder away from his season being over.

I think it's fair. I think Ty Simpson is a bit low, but that's another issue.

Seems right. Honestly, not terribly bothered or enthused by it. I think we've all known what he is for weeks now and it's fun. If he gets 1% better each week, happy playoff time.

Piava and King are above him because of their production. I don't think any coach would take either over CJ though. Especially considering his age, eligibility, and clean health. CJ is also better than Stockton.

Just guessing, he’s exceeded all IE posters “best case scenario” heading into the season.

Do any college starting QBs get through a season without throwing an interception?

My point was that the CJ Carr has a few plays where he tried to do too much and even the announcers would say something along the lines of "that"s a freshman mistake" when he throws an INT by throwing across his body on a dead play.

Against Miami the coaches kindly told the media afterwards "yeah we need to make the RPOs more 'hand the damn ball to Love unless it's obvious that you shouldn't' type of RPOs." Again, a bit of hero ball.

There are other criticisms than just missing a few deep balls. Still, he is clearly one of the best QBs in the country and his trajectory is, frankly, to be the most NFL-ready QB in Notre Dame history. One game he's going to throw for 500 yards and 5 TDs it's going to be fucking magical.

In a realistic world, I want my QB to throw ~2-4 picks during the season. Not like the Miami RPO pick though lol
If you don't thrpw any interceptions it means there were some drops and it got in the QBs head to go completely risk averse. Trey Lance did it as a freshman at NDSU. By the end of the playoffs, dude wouldn't throw the ball unless he saw someone wide open and the offense completely melted down.

I look at a QBs the same way i look at high end litigators. If you never lose in motion practice/turn the ball over it means you aren't trying hard enough. I want limits pushed at times. See what you can do

I want a QB that throws a pick and then has the balls to go back out there with enough confidence to throw another contested tough pass. We don't need a little bitch, we need a grown ass man

And that was the knock during spring ball and early camp, that he let mistakes get in his head, was maybe wound a little too tight. And then at the start of the year he threw a few bad picks. But he seems to have learned it's not the end of the world, you just go back out there.

A grown ass man that still throws 3-1 touchdown to interception ratio. Otherwise it’s too reckless for my tastes.

That hit hard.

May his memory continue to be a blessing for their family.
