I can't keep up, in a few years he went from George County to Lipscomb back to George County. Commits to ND, Commits to Auburn, Commits to Ole Miss, and now transferring?

I dont remember him committing to Ole Miss....remember him visiting there a few times but not committing. Anyways, good riddance, glad he decommitted when he did. Dont need a cancer in the locker room

Color me shocked. A dude that was this wishy washy during the recruiting process hasn’t panned out? Wow! Kid had bust written all over him.

This is a serious question because I don’t know, but has there ever been a kid that was committed to ND publicly for a long period of time and gone elsewhere and worked out? I’m thinking of guys like Peyton Bowen, Tee Shepherd and Chris Martin.

His instagram has deleted all Auburn content and his story is sharing a post of Tae Johnson from the official ND football account.

Obviously it’s not happening but guarantee you he wishes things were different. I mean, he came to the Sugar Bowl in ND gear apparently. Almost feel bad for him

The long forgotten Pete Werner, who just had 13 tackles for the Saints.

Would we take him? Let
Him sit for a year
Sure we take him and have Minchey portal out to Clemson as you’d suggested. Next yr we’d have Carr, Hebert, Rezac, Knight and Grubbs.

God forbid Carr goes down. Where are you turning? You didn’t like the idea of playing an inexperienced TE in the Premer thread but you’d be ok w that situation at QB? Your hair brain ideas get worse by the day.

Dude, how do you even know if we can play all of our games next year? Are you just assuming biblical rain events won't cancel our biggest recruiting weekends?

I would accept Deuce Knight transfer to ND under specific conditions. I'm not even cone it unless Kenny transfers and they need another QB on the roster. Next thing that would need to happen is complete Mea Culpa from Deuce, he comes hat in hand admitting he screwed up and screwed ND and they don't need to spend time, money and effort recruiting him and that he's just coming to rectify his mistake of decommiting He would have to understand this is Carr's team and he's got to bide his time.

If it were to play out like that, then I would be happy to see him in the Blue & Gold but that ain't happening.

The QB depth is as good as it's been here in a decade or two.

I really don't see the need to bring in an unproven QB. You do everything you can to keep Minchey for at least another year to backup CJ and then after next year if he decides to transfer if CJ isn't going pro then you gotta be ok with that. By then you should have had time to develop one of the younger guys to be a serviceable backup.

And who knows maybe Buchner will have talked the NCAA into giving him a 9th year of eligibility to be a backup too.

Depends how they feel on Blake. Also, Deuce would have to say deuces  to his NIL package ND had for him

Pull a Ewers and go there for a season, take the upfront money, then come on down to ND next summer and be ready to ball.
If the kid was really in this as a business venture, that wouldn’t be a terrible way to play it.
Of course, I realize how ND undergraduate transfer rules make that likely impossible.
How many Auburn Freshman Gen Ed courses would be allowed to transfer toward a ND Undergrad degree??? Haha

This may have been ole Deuce's plan all along!
Feel bad for the kid a little bit.
This was one of those situations that for those who follow the sport (Freeze not long for that position, Auburn has been a sinking program for the past 5-7 years) saw coming, but (reported) guaranteed money upfront is hard to pass up.

Shameless move IMO - you can NOT be the face of the class and then dip out. Especially when the choice is yours. It's not like Stepp a few years back. Decommit, fine, whatever, but to shamelessly do it while whispering to recruits about doing it for so long? Fuck outta here.

Congrats to Deuce Knight becoming the starting QB at FAU next year and then the starter for Oregon State the following year with a graduate semester at Houston. Well done buddy you got your NIL and were a starter, hope it was worth it.

Lol, the mea culpa thing isn't happening nor should it. If he wants to come and be a part of the team/will be a great teammate I say heck yeah. His tools are still elite.
