this is the best OC and QB we have had in forever. All around the offense looks excellent. Can't believe it looked clogged up in week 1.
I'm waiting for the wildcat version with Love and Price in the backfield at the same time, with a play-action lob to a TE to create some hesitancy.Tweak the Wildcat thing or get rid of of it all together. That's really my only gripe.
Apart from that, as fans we're lucky to have Denbrock in the program. Very simple.
That is the only scenario when the wildcat makes sense, i.e. you take the QB off the field. Running the QB out wide or just having him as an H back that doesn't block is so stupid. You're playing 10 vs. 11 in short yardage.I'm waiting for the wildcat version with Love and Price in the backfield at the same time, with a play-action lob to a TE to create some hesitancy.
Which makes a lot of sense in the grand scheme of things.I'm waiting for the wildcat version with Love and Price in the backfield at the same time, with a play-action lob to a TE to create some hesitancy.
I've thought about that and yeah that is great. But then do it on 3rd and 1 at midfield. Not on 4th and goal when the game is just getting started and you're trying to set the tone.I am a big fan of continuing to put the wildcat on film and running it into a wall of defenders, because at some point Love is going to hit a pop pass for a big play when they need it the most.
But other than that, when you line up J Love in wildcat, everyone and their moms knows you're running the ball. I would really like to see them line up in 12 or 13 (I am fully aware of the current TE situation), and commit to running power, or running CJ out of a naked boot with the option to throw it or run it to break tendency. That Boise naked boot on Saturday for their TD was PERFECT
You will never catch an argument on this from me. It's pissed me off each time they've ran it. Especially when you get blocking up front in a normal formation that looks like this:I've thought about that and yeah that is great. But then do it on 3rd and 1 at midfield. Not on 4th and goal when the game is just getting started and you're trying to set the tone.
LOL......Thought I had that pic saved and was going to post it. Thanks
At 61, there's plenty of gas left in the tank. Just my guess, but when he retires, it won't be because of age, but because the wife says it's time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He's 61 now anyone have any guesses how long he gives it a go? I'm guessing he stays at ND and retires. Maybe 4 more seasons?
