Last post season one of the IE members shared the all 22 film. If you’re still out there I’d love to see this seasons all 22. I’d really like to see actual D snaps… alignment, pressure, coverage etc. I don’t think I’m dreaming the total confusion pre-snap?!?!

Didn’t anyone catch the question by Horka about confusion on the defense and Freeman said their didn’t seem to be any confusion when he was on the headset with them

My favorite part of the game thread was when people were so gun shy when Minchey came in they forgot how to do math. 🤣

lol LAX an actual ND grad told us subway alum mortals it was a 3 score game and we fell in line.

Bro I literally thought we were only up 23 points -- not 33 -- when they put him in. When they scored in the 4th I stared at the scorebug trying to figure out how we were somehow now up 26

Tbf with this defense 33 feels a lot more like 23.

This board would be in such a better spot if we won 40-14 lol. More people should be celebrating how unstoppable the offense was. USC didn’t do this to this defense. They couldn’t even hold the 1s to a FG outside of the strip sack.

THIS exact play makes me think something changed in the 2nd half.

Honestly, this gives me some hope that we can salvage the defense to an average/above average group.

My hesitancy is that they didn’t do it coming out of fall camp, during the bye week before A&M and didn’t game plan it to start the Purdue game…

The talent is there and we’ve literally seen the same players play at high level with this type of scheme. NOW DO IT

Or if we didn't blow farts the first two games

Watched the end of 1H drive:

- Zone of some sort. Straight 4 man rush that got some pressure. Dump off to RB gets 13.

- Showed C2, played C3. 4 man rush. Rubio gets more pressure that forces quicker dump off and Bowen tackles after 5 yards.

- C3 again with 4 man rush. Seam throw for 20 yards. Golden in coverage.

- Zone of some sort. Maybe C4. 4 man rush again, Traore with some pressure. Escapes and hits comeback in front of Gray for 13.

- C1. Zackery beat on corner route from bunch set. Stroman doing nothing again over the top. 4 man rush, Rubio again some pressure.

Easy to lose track of the Touchdowns when they pile up so quickly!

4 man rush throughout. The 4 guys actually did decent just nobody flat out won. Rubio and JR can’t be 2 of your best 4 pass rushers. No stunts. Given the decent pressure with 4, likely could have landed a knockout with one successful 5+ pressure.

Some of the same issues as Miami/A&M game. Too much depth on zones allows easy dump offs to start a drive. Stroman basically useless over the top. Bowen in coverage throughout.

Gray and Golden certainly not good coverage. Expect better from Gray. Deathly scared of getting beat vertical so he gives up a 15 yard comeback to the sideline to stop the clock. Just a bit too much space.

Postgame Thoughts:
1. Notre Dame has the best 1-2 punch RB's in the country.
2. CJ Carr is the best passing QB we've had since Jimmy Clausen.
3. Great first offensive call of the game, ND needs to utilize Fields height and use him more besides a deep threat.
4. I liked how Denbrock got multiple WR's involved yesterday.
5. Freeman involved more in the defense= sacks and turnovers.
6. KVA keeps on thriving and has been fun to watch this season.
7. Replace Karson Hobbs with Dallas Golden.
8. Good to see Faraimo get some PT.
9. My dad and I had the opportunity to talk to Leonard Moore's family on campus; great talking to the Moore family!
10. He is no longer playing for ND, but I hope Angeli has a safe recovery.

Go Irish!

Was alcohol involved?

I bet alcohol was involved, because I'm pretty sure you're an engineer and I assume engineers should be decent at the whole math thing.

First 3 drives of the second half passing plays only:

Drive 1:
- Zone maybe C3. 4 man rush. Seam throw in front of Zackery and Golden for 15. Roated because of motion which put Golden as the high safety. LBs bit on PA fake. Center of field wide open.
- Zone maybe C2. Short hooks flooding 1st down line. 3 man rush. Dropped ball. Gray played man while everyone else played zone which is why WR was open. Punt.

Drive 2:
- C4. 4 man rush. 4 yard short pass in front of Ausberry.
- Man against empty. 5 man rush LB blitz. JR wins right away and hits QBs arm. Incomplete at Golden.
- The highlight posted above. Cover 0 blitz with 6 man stunt. Punt.

Drive 3:
- C0 or C1. 8 yard gain on half screen. Faraimo missed tackle.
- Zone of some sort. 4 man rush, Hughes main pressure, Botelho draws hold.
- Zone of some sort. 4 man rush. Another half screen, JR pressure incomplete.
- Third and 20 they ran and punted.

Idk I didn’t really see the revelation of Freeman calling plays besides the one highlight above. Our DL started winning more and quicker. Shuler helps talent and communication wise. I’m sure some conversations were had but the jury is completely out on assuming a change was made during the rain delay.

Someone in the game thread said if any defense could find a way to give up 11 pts per possession, it would be ours.
