It's also great because, when we had BK the beat absolutely could manipulate people into turning on him when they didn't get the info or access they wanted, because he was such a prick and we all were pretty much holding our noses to cheer for the guy to begin with.

But with Marcus, he's so likable the beat has absolutely zero leverage. He can't be manipulated by them. Love seeing these self-important losers get put in their place.

I hope Burress does learn the playbook because it would be incredible to have him penciled in for next year as a starter or high level backup.

I think this is a good decision -- Carr appeared to be the more talented passer in the BG game. If he sucks and we go 0-2 we can always switch to Minchey and run the table and make the playoffs. Hopefully in that scenario, the adversity would induce Carr to stick around another year in the program and compete again for 2026.

Why is IB getting tagged re: QB competition? Were they at the forefront of breaking inside information on the QB battle or something? I thought that was Irish Illustrated or someone else who was pushing it.

I think IB staff favored Carr due to upside (like everyone else around here), but their whole thing this week was that they would be fine with Carr or Minchey so long as the process is good.

BD said he was worried they would announce Minchey but not give him the runway to make a few mistakes before turning to Carr; essentially BD / IB's position on the battle seems to be whoever gets the nod needs to be given a chance to develop on the field and not be looking behind their back once the season starts.

Seems reasonable... not sure what meltdown people think is incoming.

So based on what we are seeing now' Seems like the beat was wrong about 1. Arrows report of CJ taking the one reps being false. 2. Kenny being named the starter on Friday. 3. CJ having an awful Saturday where he threw multiple picks. 4. It being inevitable Kenny was going to be named the starter. Truly a remarkably embarrassing 5 day period for all of them
