Never took calculus in HS or college.

The 1990s were truly a wonderful time.
Same. And I’m an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame. Topped out at pre-calc in high school and then took Intro to Logic and Math for Poets or some such en route to an Arts & Letters major. Twenty five years later I work with numbers every day in my job but it’s all basic arithmetic.

I blame @Domina Nostra and @Cackalacky2.0 ! I did nothing to contribute to this derailment.

Calc III wasn’t too bad conceptually if you understood Calc II well.

Unfortunately for me, the profs in ND’s mathematics department can hardly be understood through their thick European accents. I had Dr Muh-chew (Mathieu)

Once you can do derivatives and integrals with x and y adding z isn't that different. And Calc 3 doesn't have sequences and series which is where Calc 2 really goes off the rails for some people.

I've heard of an ND math professor who would always say fuck-tion instead of function.

I had a professor with a lisp and every time he said “assssthymtopes” it was so fucking glorious. Even he knew it.

Only in a Notre Dame forum would you derail a thread to talk about Calc

Graduated BSME 87. Found one of my class notebooks around 2011. Lotsa Calc. Couldn't remember / understand any of it.

Also... my Calc prof, 2nd time around was Fr. Burke. Had class literally up in the Dome.
My stepfather also had him - in 1940.

I had formal logic in the dome. The whole class felt like a dream.
