I was going to post about this earlier this week, would Freeman and ND give him a look? But like you all, I am thinking, ND does something like this, it would def. tarnish Freeman and ND due to the nature of his infraction. So... I have no clue why this BYU beat guy (Jake Hatch) believes pretty adamantly that Retzlaff ends up at ND - See 4:00 to 4:45 portion of this podcast. Crazy that he thinks this is going to happen! I know it could just be click bait, but this podcast and these guys are all about BYU and that's just a 45-second statement in their overall show so why mention ND? Strange.

For Bowden, it would look like a big time free agent signing. For a guy who loves the attention, huge win
Although he hasn't been super successful at USC, I don't think Lincoln Riley would give him the time of day considering all the stud qbs he's worked with through his career. Bowden yes would be quite interested I'm sure.

ND isnt looking at him. This is clearly an agent move to garner more attention. I wouldn't believe everything you read guys.

0% chance this happens, he isn't even good enough to get hyped about if it were true. I'll take Carr or Minchey over him.
probably the case but dont you think if ND wasn't interested they'd quickly put the word out through back channels considering the court case that just ended in settlement?

Who knows? I'm not believing the idea, just wondering why the guy is saying it. So, yes, pumping up Retzlaff could be a reason. But even there, with all the teams who are likely to be interested in him and with NIL $ out there, I don't think Retzlaff needs any help. Unless this guy is a Retzlaff's buddy and maybe Retzlaff wants to come to ND, but again, all crazy, wild speculation and a reach. It's also funny that he didn't say "Retzlaff to ND, but who knows" or "..., but I can't confirm it." Again, just a beat guy spouting off, but is just strange that he mentions ND of all the teams out there and with not caveats and with confidence. Again, just kind of strange.

All this. For us it'd be a bad look publicity-wise, a bad locker room move, and a bad football decision. The only person this chatter is good for is Retzlaff trying to up his profile and NIL check with whatever Big 12 school he lands at.

There is no way this is a thing, right? All we've heard is that Carr is poised to take the job and he's had the requisite time to really learn the Denbrock offense. Why would this be the move in July?

And that says nothing of Minchey, who has a lot of upside and arm talent.

To some degree, I'd take Bowden's side here. It's his job as the GM to figure out the price tag for Ewers or Klubnik. If he screwed up, it's because Carr's camp figure out he was asking around.

Back to Retzlaff, I agree with you all, this would be a bad move all the way around and tarnish ND's recent culture and recruiting momentum. So we'll all forget that BYU beat guy even mentioned ND. Done! 🍀

If MF said look into it, go for it. If MF was saying next year it's Carr's team and Bowden still did it, no go

Would it make a difference if the player were a stud a la RGIII or Jayden Daniels? I tend to think no, but talent has a way of seducing one's morals. On the other hand there is the forgiveness aspect.

Yea, if this were true would never forgive rape and strangulation for a stud a la RGIII or Jayden Daniels. Fucked up to even bring up for discussion.

RGIII or JD?? Would it make a difference on what? If either of those were QB this year or last year it's a Championship or if they were interested in transferring in even right now take them and it's still a chip😂😂

My apologies for offending your delicate moral compass. I hadn't read past the headline and what others had commented. I wouldn't forgive rape or strangulation either, but that wasn't my point. I was commenting on ahypothetical given the optics and if talent changed the willingness to accept a player who had serious allegations charged to them.

We know a qb had allegations of rape and a suit brought against him for it that was permanently dismissed. Will we ever know the truth about what happened?

It's the offseason. And we had our own Prince Shembo.

Well, at least you can admit you’re ignorant. No argument here.
