? June 14th is the birthday of the Army. Similar to how flyovers provide useful training for pilots to meet TOT and have the added benefit of using flight hours that are already required for pilot proficiency, the logistical lift required to move units to DC has training value for the Army. They are also in no way new and unique to Trump.

I think criticisms over the cost are fair, especially when juxtaposed with flyovers as those pilots were going to use that JP8 regardless. I think it is still a useful exercise of logistics, but generally think the money could be spent better on warfighting related exercises.

Next year is 250th for the country too, pretty sure Trump talked about giant plans for that across the country. Like a giant traveling fair or something. All of that stuff costs money. Won't have another meaningful birthday for another fifty years.

I wasn't around for the Bicentennial, but I think that was a big deal? I know there is a ton of North Dakota Centennial decor/apparel (I collect some) floating around. I will likely be dead or in a nursing home by our Bicentennial, lemme have one big patriotic/home state celebration once dammit!
