Still wish MF would have gotten the backups more snaps last year. There were some games that weren’t even in question that could’ve got these guys more experience than handing off the ball every play. This a feeling that this is gonna come back to bite us early in the season no matter who starts.

It seems likely Minchey is going to come and go without us ever seeing him in real, live action. I get holding Carr out given injury, but I was really hoping we'd get to see Minchey spin it a few times. I think it'd have been a lot of fun. Also I miss Riley. I still get chills when I see his first TD against OSU and the confidence he was oozing.

Didn’t realize Nolan James had 3 catches for 60 yards maybe he sees the field some in the passing game this year

He looks good, but I don't see him getting on the field much this year. Glad to have him, though. Looks like a solid all around back. The one busted coverage was most of the 60 yards. Could see him working into the rotation when Love and Price go to the NFL.

I would love for Price to come back next year an be THE GUY. Aneyas becomes your #2 and Kendron is your short yardage back.

Yea I think Aneyas probably has that locked down right now..

I am amazed we didn’t have any RB transfers. The room is incredibly stacked.
They might see that we traded in one "arguably top 5 RB coach in the nation" for another "arguably top 5 RB coach in the nation" and think it's a good idea to get coached up by that guy.

I can see a RB transfer in the next portal opening. Unfortunate but a likely reality with NDs riches at the position.
I'm thinking it'll probably be JD Price. Which makes me sad, but he's REALLY good and could start almost anywhere that doesn't have JLove. Williams and Payne can fight out for the 2-3 spot.

I don't think it will be Price. Payne got enough carries to show he is recovered but not a ton. Kind of a semi audition for others in my speculative opinion

Yeah if any RB transfers Payne makes the most since. Price can leave after this year for draft with love or use his 5th year somewhere else and next year your 3 backs are Williams, Young, and James. Along with whatever 2 freshman they bring in.

I don't see Price as the guy, not an every down back anyway. He's got to become a complete back first. Williams is your every/any down guy after Love leaves. Price has to show he's a better blocker and has to show he's a receiving weapon out of the backfield. He needs to work on his patience finding the hole too, although that's something they said in the Spring Game he's been working and improving on. Up till now Price has been a feast or famine back, he has great talent and speed but needs to focus on the little things to be a complete back. He's kind of like a more talented GA III at this point.

Price was outstanding yesterday. No knock on williams but price’s twitch and explosiveness are on a completely different level. Williams will get his turn.

They are both really good. Why not accept that? Price seems a bit better at ripping a chunk play. Williams seem better on getting the yards necessary, and blocking the offense pattern properly. Payne is the guy, who is very good too, but seems squeezing out with Young coming for some carries.
