A good friend of mine is also good family friends with his family. I was told he left at halftime of his visit a few weeks ago upset from not getting enough attention, maybe was expecting an offer. And he wasn’t happy that Gino told him he hadn’t watched any of his tape from this season. I believe this was his 5th trip to campus the same weekend we were flipping Hebert. But we are no longer in the mix for him from what I heard.
I thought he was over ND because we didn’t give him and his family enough attention during their game day visit? Or, is that another QB prospect I’m thinking of?
Stay tuned I guess?

Maybe since his disappointment with not being adorned by the Blue & Gold during the mid November game was well before ND's hot CFP run, he's reconsidered and now realizes that ND is a good place to be playing ball.

I guess I posted on II when everyone was discussing Trae Taylor and said something about how he left mid visit and was upset about still not receiving an offer (which was reported) and just saw this in my inbox over there:

  • This is Trae father, Trae didn’t leave mid game for not having an offer or all the attention as you say. ND has been very clear with Trae that the earliest he would be offered if they did was during gold rush. ND has been very upfront with that. Trae did leave early so that he could get back home for his homecoming. As he has sacrificed so much as a kid I think it’s fair for us to Allow him to be a kid. But from spring practice a year ago they have always said offer during gold rush. At Irish invasion they said gold rush. When they came to our school after the game we left early, they said earliest they would offer if they did offer would be gold rush. Yes he left early to come home to homecoming as we have attended many ND games practices and camps
Isn't this the same guy that has been running Trae's socials and has been told to chill? Is Gold Rush pot of gold day?
IDK, but he seems reasonable considering he's calmly replying to fan's posts about his son. Sounds like a good family and hope Trae succeeds.

This guy wants to be Irish so badly. I love it. Hope it works out for both parties if we don't hit on our top-of-board targets

Does he? Or is he just beside himself that ND won't give him the offer?

Not sure why he'd be beside himself unless he wanted to be here

He's very much into the process as are those around him. While I believe he's interested in ND, I do not believe he'd be committed to ND had they offered him.

Are we all in on Gunner Rivers? Kids offer list is tremendous and is obviously at a feeder school.

No offer yikes
They arent offering any until they see them all it seems. Definitely a new strategy by the staff, but it does not mean anything good or bad in regards to Taylor and ND's relationship. He has stated that ND is very honest with him.

No offers and no reported offers are two very different things.

Gunner Rivers was probably offered two years ago

As much as I’d like that to be true, I’d all but guarantee those words have never been spoken to the Rivers.

Have they been said to a single 2027 QB at this point? The media has made it sound like Gino is keeping the cards close to the vest until he wants to make an actual move

Media says no. I think they are in so good with Borque that they feel they can take their time. Loy doesn't think ND/Taylor will progress.

I've always gotten that vibe.

Hell of a final group for a kid in our backyard / visited a ton to not have an offer. Staff is certainly putting their nuts on the line by betting that we have someone better essentially locked up.
