That would mean setting up for returns and less getting after the punter like ND excels at. Not sure a couple of PRTD's are a net positive over how many mistakes they have pressured opposing punt units into.

I think Dale did a dive into this and Hurley Man's return avg was pretty much in line with who he comp'd him with.

Still, would be cool if they excelled at both depending on Biaggi's mode come game day.

Two true outcome punt philosophy.

And you would be bitching up a storm when they muff a punt that costs a game or take a fair catch inside the 5 or miss read a punt and let it go and gets downed inside the 5 or our most dynamic play maker gets injured getting destroyed on a punt he tried to make something happen or so on and so on and so on. The risk is not worth the reward. Let the best players master the craft they are going to get paid millions doing on Sunday’s and will have the most impact for ND winning a title.

I've come to terms about the need to talk about this every season until the rules change or the game evolves, likely the former.

Is his low four star rating due to his height?
Height Weight Frame and prob more because its a complete projection. The skill and talent are there, clear as day, but how will he do against bigger stronger corners? There is no HS corner who is going to sit on the line and press him and his speed is enough to absorb a 12 yd cushion almost instantly. So how does he hold up when he has to go up against D1 corners who are 2-4 years older than him, 3-5 inches taller, and 30 pounds of muscle heavier? If he can release and break against press he's a home run, if he cant then he's a gadget player. Is he an immediate impact player or do you have to wait until his junior year for him to separate himself in a system?

My guess is his ranking reflects the low end probability of answering yes to those important questions. This is a prospect, in years past, that would likely hit a mid major D1 school for a couple years to shine then transfer to the big time to prove it. Meanwhile the whole world would go "where did this kid come from?" But now with the success of someone like Tez Johnson Calvin Austin in Memphis or even in the pros like Tyreek, I think teams are more willing to find the diamond in the rough so to speak

Anyone know when his commitment day is? The most recent posts in this thread say. " commitment day set". With the new CB just wondering if anyone new when.

When you look at stars/rankings, remember that these sites do it as if they are NFL draft prospects. The guy ranked 200 is being projected, basically, as the 200th pick in the fictional NFL draft that only consists of his high school draft. Brayden and others get dinged for having things like size that won't translate, but it doesn't mean they won't be a killer college player. Watts is going to go in the 40s or 50s, but no college GM in their right mind would take 40 guys over Watts.

Yeah his its pretty comical he’s a lower rated player than Burress and Antavious Richardson when he’s got offers from OSU, Alabama, Texas, A&M, Miami, LSU, Oregon etc…

Even if he is undersized, it’s very obvious he’s viewed as a Top 200 type player (at minimum) by people who actually do this for a living.
