I watched the Gabby Petito doc. I’m a huge supporter of our LEOs and first responders, but crazy to me how they bungled that case on multiple levels. First, with the fairly obvious DV concerns against Laundrie when officers intervened in Utah, and then again allowing him to escape surveillance in Florida.

It's on my list. Unfortunate that she didn't have the strength to get out of that relationship. Laundries parents need to rot in hell for helping him and lying about it.

The Birds scared the fuck out of me as a little kid. Never got to see all of Psycho.
We watched both of these in my Horror in Films class at college. I had not seen either before that. That was one class I didn’t mind showing up to.

The australian National Rugby League (NRL) season kicks off today/tonight in Los Vegas (Rugby League is a different/better sport than Rugby Union as it essentially has down and distance/sort of and no "rucks"). Is anyone interested?
My team is the Parramatta Eels and we are essentially the catholic team in the NRL and we haven't won since the 80s so all Irish fans should get on board with us.
That left tackle from the Eagles, Maitalo, was an NRL junior and there are heaps of fella's like him here.

My Brother in Law and Niece are in Vegas this week to see the Wigan Warriors that's one of the League teams they follow. The other one is the Roosters probably in the same league as your Eels. My niece has some awesome Rooster's swag.

The day they got there, they went to a local soccer complex in Vegas to see the US and Greece but it got cancelled due to lighting. I saw a tweet today that some tweakers stole all the copper wiring.

I hope Rugby catches on here in the States. Some of the best times I had in college was watching our club team play various Midwest college teams. To get people to come out, they'd buy 3-4 kegs and set them up in the backyard of a house the guys rented next to the field. They also had some old bleachers out of a Jr High in the backyard facing the field. We'd stand on either side of the fence and drink since alcohol was not permitted "on" campus.

Yes the Sydney roosters are part of the NRL comp that Parra play in. They are sort of like Bama/Michigan. Very cheaterish.
There is a women’s game coming up next in about 30 minutes that folks should watch. Australia v England - the ladies play a very good entertaining brand of Rugby League. The Aussie girls will violate the England girls.

Crimson Tide is definitely not the best submarine movie, but it might be the best movie about submarines

1) Das Boot, as others have said, extended edition. It’s in German but with English subtitles. It is a phenomenal movie and doesn’t get enough mainstream attention in the WWII cinematic cannon.

2) Hunt For Red October for sure, it’s got the great acting and writing (albeit unrealistic submarine operational depiction). Still good

3) Down Periscope - this is a comedy. Many submariners like to say this is the most realistic submarine movie (to which I roll my eyes) but it is true that it’s the best movie about submariners.

4) Run Silent Run Deep: old Clark Gable movie about US submarine operations against Japan. I’m dying for a modern remake. Very good film

5) U-571 - what this gets right is that all submarine officers are hot

I hate the most recent submarine movie Hunter Killer with Gerard butler, but I almost like to hate watch it.

I would put Run Silent Run Deep at the top with Hunt for Red October.

Reacher 3 not as good as 1 & 2 but better than the alternatives.

I enjoyed Zero Day. Just glad it wasn't aliens in the end. But not surprised it was that Louden Swain kid behind it all. He had everyone fooled but me. Wish Shute woulda just broke him in half and nailed Linda Florentino in the end.

1923 S2 E2 out today.
