Again, we're talking about a country of 40M. You're anger would be better directed at the provinces with worsening healthcare systems that lead to this. If you're being intellectually honest you'd start there and not a figure of 622.

The difference is that the worsening health care are not conscious policy decisions and there’s a myriad of reasons that could be leading for worse outcomes. The decision in 2021 to open up MAID to those with depression or otherwise not about to die of natural causes imminently is an act of pure evil.

As for the low number, I don’t see how that diminishes the evil of the practice. For reference there are only like ~100 police killings of unarmed civilians in the US. Does that mean we shouldn’t be outraged when it happens?

Well, start with those reasons then? Why not discuss those than some meme account that has 0 context? FTR I think offering voluntary MAID is wrong and a sign that systemic change needs to be main.

This is missing the entire point of the protests, they were for police brutality not just killings. Completely different.

It's a non-issue. 2022 non-reasonable deaths were 435. We're talking about a population of 40M. It's fun topic for alt right meme accounts to run with, but the data does not even come close to supporting it.
There you go again. The deaths are a very small fraction, so it's okay. Just like those illegals that were arrested for killing. It's a small percentage compared to the number of murders committed by citizens.

Our healthcare system is a joke, but Virginia's point was about the suicides not life expectancy and how much each country spends per. Maybe if Canada spent more those suicides would go down!

USA has a sick care system, not a healthcare system. Cultural rot compounds the problem with vast swaths of our population celebrating unhealthy lifestyles.

I'm OK with Canada's assisted suicide - if you don't like it you better save money to fend for yourself and have better options.

Whether or not it is the intention, the system in place fiscally incentivizes the government to euthanize its sick people, and I think that is an inherently evil practice.

They get what they pay for. You want "free" healthcare - good luck. I find the dependency and overmedication of our system inherently evil too. People take no accountability - sloth and gluttony enabled by our system is evil.

Because the underlying issues are way more important than just 622 people! That's the whole thing! The travesty is for the people still living that have to deal with a broken healthcare system. I want for you and the people who rag on Canada's healthcare system to actually point towards the issues. It's horrible to say but those 622 people were likely going to commit suicide anyways, this way offers them some dignity to them and their families. It's like removing access to abortion, you think abortions are going to go away? lmao

Suicide rates by country btw.

I'm not arguing about whose system is better or who has the most suicides. You're pretty saying it's okay and I disagree.

The 622 people are just as important as the underlying issue. The same here in the U.S.

Where did I say it's ok? You're saying that having MAID is wrong, I'm saying it's not wrong. I've asked you to specify what exactly is wrong with the system that has lead to the MAID voluntary deaths because these people were going to commit suicide anyways, MAID is not the issue it's the environment that lead to it that's the issue.

The underlying issues are way more important than the 622 people. The underlying issues will cause future suicides, and the numerous other negative impacts that people who do not use MAID will go through.

If those people meant something to you or anyone who shares a meme about their death you'd be pointing to the underlying issues and not just "LOL Canada sux look at the MAID deaths".

Exciting news! (Also pretty much the plot of I Am Legend)

Pancreatic cancer is a scary thing, there was a dad in our community that passed away late 30s from it even though they found it in decent time. Hopefully this ends up being the real deal.

My mom passed from pancreatic and liver cancer back in '71. It's painful as hell. These advances are a blessing. Before, if you had it, the odds weren't in your favor.

It would be incredibly funny if RFK Jr. continues to make great decisions that he founds in absolute wacky conspiracy theories.

I'll allow it. I have been anti-cell phones and laptops in schools for over a decade. Fucking disaster. Teacher's unions like their little electronic baby sitters though.

A lot of kids run the schools now. No accountability, can’t even break up fights unless u want to get sued. Maybe hip check the kill shot but that’s it.

I think keeping guns out of schools is a bigger problem than cell phones tbh

2000 kids per year commit suicide. Last year 18 people were killed in school shootings - 10 of which were adults. Keep lamenting the unicorn events and ignore the destruction of 24/7 social media addiction under your nose.

Banning guns won't stop school shootings though

Over 100,000 k-12 schools in the US. Every single one has issues with cyber/internet/social negatively influencing kids to the point of mental and physical harm to children. A small percentage have a kid bring a gun in and a microscopic amount have a gun discharged on site. I believe the colloquialism is "swatting at gnats and swallowing camels."

This is a parenting problem and to a lesser extent a teacher problem. Educators can't discipline kids out of fear of getting sued because they straightened some kids punk ass out.

It's ridiculous that we turn our kids over to the school system for 8 hours per day, but handcuff them from controlling their behavior.
