2. It's disrespectful to people with actual spectrum disorders(specifically autism) to excuse Musk's behavior, sans evidence, as a result of a spectrum disorder(specifically autism). My nephew is diagnosed with autism. He has never done half of the dumb shit Musk has done and has never done anything resembling a nazi salute.
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
...I'm going to stop you right there, friend. As a parent of a severely autistic child I can tell you with 100% confidence that every person on the spectrum is different. They don't all follow the same patterns, they don't all have similar limitations or extraordinary abilities, they don't all behave the same way. No two are completely alike. Trying to diagnose Musk, who has been characterized and admitted to having Asperger's, based on your own limited experiences is...a choice.
I've seen many different kids on the spectrum over the years in my son's classrooms and other outside interactions. I don't claim to be an expert, but I feel like I've got some good background. I'll be the first to throw a penalty flag when I see someone trying to use the spectrum falsely as an excuse. I thought it was questionable that Eddie Vanderdoes appealed to transfer from ND multiple times, and on a 3rd attempt threw out that he was autistic when it had never come up before. That's something that can ruffle feathers. Based on Musk's awkward mannerisms and at times lack of self awareness in public I've seen nothing that would call into question his diagnosis.
