Outstanding. His leadership on the aggressive ride has set the tone for all of the attack. They are so much fun to watch play. Amazing love of the game and appreciation of the history of the game.
Liam winning the Ensign Kelly award in back-to-back seasons is also well-deserved.
Just an amazing year all around.

I couldn’t find the Duke thread.

This is bullshit. She ruined the lives of those involved and their families. The negative light she brought to the university of Duke. And blamed there was race involved.

This should make her feel like the worst human being in the world. If I was one the Duke guys I would lose money to Make this evil bitch pay.

For those of us who follow men's lacrosse the One Foot Down website appears to have a writer covering the team (handle is ABrennan). He is going to be at the scrimmage today vs Detroit Mercy and will be doing a write up.

Actual opener is Feb 15th vs Cleveland St. No official schedule up yet on UND.com but it looks like we are still playing a couple of scrimmages and two games less than the NCAA limit of "real" games. Inside Lacrosse has a schedule on their website that is probably correct.

I believe we are ranked #1 to start the season, correct?

Yep at least on Inside Lacrosse which is probably the premier lacrosse website. Usual suspects right behind us Maryland, Virginia and Duke. Syracuse is number two they did a rebuild in 2023 with a lot of freshman and are now expected to be really good.
We play all of them.

I’ve been told by those in the know that we are still waiting to get tv assignments for a couple of our games, hence the *extremely* late release of the schedule.

I am super happy we're so good, and I try to watch ... but not having played the game, I have almost no "feel" for it (other than that the guys are really athletic.) So fast at the moment of attack opportunity, I don't see the weak points. I'm doomed to being a dummy fan, I guess ... but at least a loyal one.

i'm like you and never played so i couldn't tell anybody what half the rules mean but love watching it though because of the fast pace and fight for ground balls

The more you watch the more you'll pick up on stuff. I know that sounds obvious, but it really is the truth. I never played either, but I started watching about a decade ago when my brother got hired as part of the staff at Hopkins. I started to watch as many Hopkins and ND games as I could and after about 5 years of watching like 15-20 total games a year I finally felt like I was starting to "get it." I'm not saying I am an expert, but I can talk to the kids I that teach that play and come across as being fairly informed. I really wish it was more of a thing when/where I grew up. Nobody was playing in my area back then and now it's huge and growing each year.

In addition to the seven on broadcast TV the first two games will stream on ACCNX. If you have a TV subscription that includes the ACC network you can stream for free.
That leaves two road games, Michigan and Georgetown, with no TV. Outside chance they might pop up on ESPN+

Takes a while. Announcers seem to think their audience is all fans who know the game so they don’t explain a lot.
Games a lot like basketball and hockey, without the ice and with lateral movement way more important than vertical.

What frustrates me about being a fan is that I can't do what I can watching Basketball. I played Bball a lot, so I can tell the defensive weak points before the moves are made, and know who made or blew the play even if the announcers don't. That fills out the experience to me and I end up appreciating the "Glue" players who often hold the victory in their "unknown unappreciated hands." It gets to be a Full Team effort then and I love seeing a team come together as a whole.

Corrigan just announced that Faison will not play the first three games of the year as they ease him back in from football. Don’t *really* need him yet through that point, and I hope he finds the physical load manageable throughout the year. That also makes me curious how the transition to the season is going for Buchner and Matt Jeffrey, who in theory should have a smoother transition health wise.

I like it. This team is absolutely stacked. Let his body rest, get those stick skills back up to par, and get that Three-Peat!

There was a story in II today about Jeffrey. (it’s free) Corrigan said Jeffrey and Buchner are being treated differently than Faison and are full go in practice.

Dominant performance against a mismatched Cleveland State team as Notre Dame won 24-6. Kavanagh (9 pts: 4 goals 5 assists) and Taylor (7 pts on 7 goals) literally looked liked men against boys. This offense is lethal with the playmakers and depth they have. I was really impressed with #20, freshman, at SSDM...elite speed, swift feet..Fit right in with the rest of this elite team.. No one is going to compare to Liam, but Ricciardelli had a decent performance in the cage too. This team is going to be incredibly entertaining to watch!

#20 is Chris Reinhardt. Ran with the first group of Defensive Midfielders as did Buchner. Buchner was not with the top group at all last year. Our defense completely dominated last night with half new starters (including d midfield). Won’t need great goaltending if we keep that up

Irish with Marquette at noon, should be straightforward.

Richmond up 5-1 on UVA at the moment. Seems like they and Duke will be less than their usual selves this season.

watched the team play today along with first game the other day and even though it is hard to take away anything when you start out with two really lesser opponents it does seem like they are going to have a lot of guys that can score this season like for instants they had a former 5 star and true freshmen today that scored twice and almost had a hat trick

The depth of scoring is certainly impressive. I think ND has downgraded from Pat Kav and Dobson to their replacements but overall their midfielders are all multi-tool solid players. Better teams are going to try to force their 3rd midfielder (once Faison is back) and Pork to beat them.

I think the defense is a work in progress. Steep down grade at pole #2 and #3 so far, lots of poor slides or no slides. They’re letting the ball get to the middle of the field too easily. Allowing some savable balls to go in, too. Teams are not going to dodge Lyght.

It was nice seeing the middies play more downfield on offense and all play a significant role. I agree, better teams will definitely try to force ND's 3rd midfielder and Pork to beat them...but good luck. If they keep moving the ball the way they are, and continue to gel, and spread the wealth that will still be an incredibly tough task.

I definitely agree about the D...but I absolutely think the poles will continue to improve, their communication/slides will get better, and I think their SSDM's have been fantastic.

I think this season comes down to 2 things...Health and Goalie play. This is the deepest, most talented team across the board in the country. If they can stay healthy, and get above average goalie play, they should three peat! The goalie play does have me a little concerned...So far he looks okay, not great. But I do think indoor lighting can be difficult for goalies, and he's still just trying to get settled in a new role. He was very highly recruited, and I believe will get more comfortable/confident as all the pieces on the D continue to get better!

Who has been starting at close defense? Lyght, Campisi and Schwitzenberg?

And do they really call Pokorny, “Pork?”

anybody surprised that Richmond beat UVA Saturday or were they expected to have a down year compared to what they normally do
