This may have been missed yesterday. With Trump's EO to not allow biological men to compete against women in sports, the NCAA made the change finally. This is a big win for protecting women's sports. The question will be what happens the next time a Democrat takes over office and will the NCAA go back if the EO is rescinded? The language "assigned male at birth" could be a sticking point according to some, we'll see.
Read something where this may get moved to congress to make it a law.

This is a classic example of something that is common sense and should pass but getting 7 Democrats to break a filibuster will be tough since anyone who votes for it will get primaried. Our two party closed primary system makes it comically hard to vote for things where “most Americans” agree.

Yeah. That’s kinda the go to strategy. Post a bunch of fake info on twitter so people start reposting it and then people start believing it and that America is “winning” or whatever. When challenged on it, continue to lie.
Anyhow, if people want to understand some of the philosophical underpinnings on Musk and the other tech bros, as well as JD Vance’s worldviews do a search for Curtis Yarvin and or techno feudalism.

Trump and or Musk should review the budget line by line if they want but in a way that’s legal. Then present a new budget to Congress so they can pass it into law.
That’s not what they are doing. If the constitution and laws passed by Congress are optional that’s an interesting take.
Also, one of the Dogey Boys quitting because of his past posts on social media of being “racist before it was cool” coming to light leads me to believe they didn’t do much of a background check on Elons “Cracker Jack” team.

Pretty self evident in these threads.
1. Post from InsurrectionBarbie etc.
2. Pontificate about how while the post may be hyperbole there is very real concerns about that issue
3. Provided data to show issue is not real or significant.
4. Question why there isn't more being done to address the feelings of people who believe this is an issue.
5. Retreat and say "well this why no one trusts the media!" and then blame ignorance on media not being honest and say that the other person thinks they're the smartest person in the room.
6. Rinse repeat.

Post the contract, show who signed off on it, and cite the bill that covered it. I'm sure this is all being done above board and the audit trail is there and there will be bipartisan demand for seeing the details and not just drip fed from accounts like GunnerEagleman.
Yeah, it’s crazy seeing congress essentially cede power to the executive in this fashion because they’re too chickenshit to take a public up or down vote on these things.
It’s essentially supporting the idea of allowing a line item veto of any approved spending at any time.
Gee, wonder what could go wrong with that?

A lot of it goes into the minutiae of how the money that was actually appropriated from Congress. The actual managers of those programs generally has a great deal of authority to how that money actually gets executed when the budget is passed. I am unaware if the budget specifically set aside $XX,XXXK dollars to fund a transgender opera, or if it is in a larger American cultural outreach program where the bureaucrat has the say in what it actually gets spent on. As an example, if $200M dollars is set aside for the RDT&E of a new class of submarine, the actual program manager determines if $5M needs to go to research new anechoic tiles, or when the fiscal year actually hits whether that money needs to go to configure the new sonar design. If it is appropriated in that case, then it is well within the purview of the executive branch to turn off those specific programs.

This is so refreshing. I don't know how anyone can argue against cutting out the waste. Opponents are mad because they don't get a say, but you know if they were involved nothing would get cut or if it did, it wouldn't have much of an impact.
