I've posted that same sentiment. Keep them out of the EZ on the first drive and see how they handle things.

This won't be an easy out, but I really like our chances.

1. This team found out they can come from behind and win.
2. Have you seen a team with a bigger heart?
3. The players on this team believe in each other. They play not for themselves but for the rest of the team.
4. Each week different players step up to make a difference.
5. Any team that can suffer so many injuries and continue to win, knows they can.
6. I don't know exactly what a team of destiny is, but this team sure looks like one given all of the obstacles they have overcome.

Irish by one or a gazillion. Doesn't matter.

They have so much more talent on paper then us it's crazy, based on rosters alone they are going to absolutely destroy us...

But rosters alone do not win games, we have the better coaching staff, the better culture, the better team chemistry, the better drive and the better grit.
This is a very winnable game.

If Young and Faison each have a game. And Clark and Spindler show up to play...I like our chances.

ND doesn't have to be better than Ohio State on paper.
ND doesn't have to be better than Ohio State in recruiting rankings.
ND doesn't have to be better than Ohio State in some fictional B10 matchup on campus.
ND doesn't have to be better than Ohio State 100 times out of 100.

ND just has to be better on Monday. And, I have a good feeling that they will be.

So I’m a diehard NY Giants, Yankees, Devils and Irish fan. I’ve been fortunate to have truly witness and enjoy 7 championships among them all. But alone in that group is Notre Dame. I sat on my Dads lap as a 6 month old when we defeated West Virginia in 1989. I got engaged hours before a ND game that my wife and I witnessed in Philly back in 2015. I have witnessed many heartbreaks and literally cried in 2005 after the Bush Push game. I need this. This team has earned this. Witnessing this team win against all odds will complete me. Let’s Go!!!!!

As much as I agree with this, for our own sanity we should be honest about what this game is. Michigan was Ohio State’s Northern Illinois moment this year. Since then, they’ve been playing their best football of the season. You don’t dismantle the undefeated B1G champion in the playoffs based on skill alone. Ohio State is a well coached (all credit to its coordinators), tough football team who wants to win this very badly.

Irish will need to play their best game of the season and get a little lucky here. If there’s ever been a group of guys who could do it, it’s this team.

Just my two cents...

The first team to 21 points wins this game. The defensive gameplan has to be limit the big plays and make Howard nickel and dime you down the field and force him to turnover the football. It is imperative to slow down their run game, that way Howard feels the pressure of putting all the weight of the offense onto his shoulders. I firmly believe Will Howard cannot win you a football game, but he can surely lose you one. I am guessing that Chip Kelly will have a heavy dose of rub and crossing routes against our man coverage. The pressure has to get to Howard and we have to have our best game of tackling to limit the yards after the catch. If they're running the football at five, six, seven yards a clip, then I do not see a foreseeable way Notre Dame can win this football game.

Being from Ohio, a national title victory over the Buckeyes would erase the last six games against these assholes.

I found this shocking. Basically ND has higher average recruiting rating and higher production/experience across most of the offensive positions. OSU beats us in recruiting ranking in WR, QB and C. Our guys were rated higher than them in all other postions. Obviously offenses don't play against each other but it surprised me.

And for proof that "stats CAN lie" our WRs have more career production than theirs. I would imagine that is thanks to the fact that we have some seniors on our team and they have a Freshmen freak

I feel like we need to go Rocky II... first two or three drives come out in a complete zone defense, fuck up their entire script. Then at the right time, we switch back to our man to mess with Howard's head.

running a defense you had barely run all year, and when you did (USC), it didnt go well. I dont think this is a good strategy
