Day 2 of flu. Slept 18 hours yesterday. Going back to bed and setting my alarm for kickoff. @irishnd31 have a drink for me
This flu is no joke. Of our 6 everyone had it December 24-30. I managed to avoid this round of plague, it seems. But being on laundry and janitorial duty for the rest of them may have been a worse fate.

It already worked its way through our house but each of them had symptoms for less than a day. I woke up to my Apple Watch telling me to chill out cause my heart rate was over 160 bpm.

I trust MF to be able to read his team. Could have the effect of a pent up tiger that gets loose. Could also be the school made the call for player safety.

Here's to our lads making the Dawgs bark worse than their bite.
tbf a couple of parents thanked him on twitter for keeping their kids safe (in the hotel)

Rewatched the SEC Championship game during the middle of the night, some thoughts:

UGA Defense:
- Sark calls plays like Quinn is Tom Brady. Way too many low percentages throws that put you behind the sticks. and kill your drive if incompleted. Everything seems harder than it should be.
- UGA's DTs were holding up very well, but I thoughts Texas gave up on the run too early. Also no creativity in their run game - just mashing into the teeth of the Front 7.
- DBs in general were significantly worse than I expected. Our WRs aren't going to be able to separate like Texas, but man guys were just wide open, and the tackling was very average. Stuff especially seemed open in intermediate routes in the middle of the field.
- UGA wasnt getting home with 4, but were very effective with 5-6 blitzers. Hid their blitz packages very well and Quinn can't improvise like Riley.
- Not as many guys "popped" as future NFL studs as the 2021-2022 teams. Jalon Walker and Raylen Wilson probably did the most. Mykel Williams as well. DTs were solid, but not elite.

UGA Offense:
- Biggest take away is that Kirby has little trust in Stockton, and when he trusted him on the third and long at the end of the game, he threw what could have been a game-losing pick 6. Very good arm and can move decently, but is erratic and panics under pressure.
- Couldn't get any push running the ball in the first half, but were more successful after Stockton took over. Texas gave him way too much respect as a passer and should have been just stacking the line. They also were pretty lost defending the read option.
- Interior OL > OTs. Monroe Freeling especially got abused in pass pro.
- UGA WRs are horrendous considering their recruiting. Arian Smith is the best of the bunch I guess due to his explosiveness but he has Lenzy level hands. Tight Ends are a very good group, but none are game breakers.
- Ettiene is a good power RB, but he's not going to break any explosives unless we really blow an assignment. Likewise with Frazier, who maybe has a little more juice. Both Love and Price are more explosive.

This UGA team just seems like a very good top 10 team, but not elite team to me, especially with Stockton. If we score 20, we should win. I don't see how UGA is going to consistently move the ball with Stockton, unless our front 7 is horrendous against the run. Just seems like a good match up for us on that side of the ball where we should be able to sellout and let the DBs eat.

Also after watching this, the Clemson game, and the ASU game, I think Texas might be the biggest underperformer of the top teams (now that OSU has kicked it into gear). This game should have been a 10+ point Texas win in regulation.

I took my dad and two of my kids to South Bend for the Indiana game. We picked it up in a plane, dad was sick all weekend, son threw up the entire plane ride back, then my other two daughters took turns, then my extended family. It’s no joke

Holy shit, you can get ridiculously good seats for $200 right now. Scrambling to see if there is logistically a way for me to fly down to Nah Lynns in time for kickoff.

Alabama at their peak wouldn’t drum up much interest for semi games, because they all expected and knew they would be in the finals every year.

I feel like Georgia has reached a similar level where a lot of their fans have the “we will wait for the big one” mentality.

Next week someone will be playing PSU to get to the National Championship. These players, coaches, and to a degree fans have invested everything for this opportunity. The tragedy happened but it's completely outside of the control of the players/teams/fans, and the mentality they show up with today will last for a lifetime. I hope everyone can lock in for this game, fans players and coaches. Have fun, let's make history.

New Orleans has obviously been a real somber vibe and I do think it's going to bode well for ND. I can definitely see an empty stadium and a real lack of energy. A UGA fan gave me two tickets in a slightly better section than I had. Going from the 300's on the 50 to the 200's on the 40. We shall see, but I'm ready to get home too, not much to do here except sit in the casino which has been crazy packed.
