I was saying the same thing to my buddy yesterday (neither of us are Colts fans).

Honestly, AR appears to be a failed experiment at this point, but could possibly benefit by sitting out and watching a veteran like many young QBs. He's got so much raw talent but needs to learn how to play the position at this level. Flacco was winning football games for Indy...maybe try getting out of your own way and give yourself a change to win more games?

From a moral standpoint, I’m sure pulling yourself from a close game didn’t help. He essentially quit on his team, so why not quit on him? Maybe this will allow him some time to get into shape.

I truly don’t understand this. He’s started 10 games. MAYBE a failed experiment is a full season, maybe. He’s a 22 year old kid who was drafted because of tools, not experience. There’s only one way to get any experience. They pulled the rug out from him, and will now pay for it with another 10 years of meaningless football…

At least we had the Manning era.

The 2024-25 NFL season is being played now. You gave AR a shot, it hasn't worked out, and Flacco was winning games. You're in the thick of a wild card and AFC south divisional race.

Guys like Jordan Love sat behind Aaron Rodgers because he was a raw prospect who played low level FBS football, but had the requisite skills to succeed eventually. It happens all of the time. It's not fool proof, but it works.

It was a risky draft pick. He hasn't looked good. Maybe let him absorb some knowledge from a proven veteran who has already won you a couple of games? Or not. Not my franchise.

With how bad he’s looked, I’m not sure if AR will ever rebound after this but I know it’s long past time to move on from Ballard. Hasn’t accomplished anything in 8 years. Not ready to give up on Steichen though.

Maybe they win 9 games against the shit division. So what? And They can’t win the division Houston swept them, and they won’t be coming back to the field. They aren’t winning a playoff game even if they made the playoffs. It’s not happening. Not with the garbage Gus Bradley defense on the field. Any winning that happened ACTUALLY happed with AR. So yeah, 10 games just isn’t enough to call something a failed experiment. Daniel Jones is starting, what, 70 games now?

Steichen is supposed to be a offensive guru, but I have my doubts. Opening drive the Colts are running and cramming it down the Giants throats. 3rd and 2 in the RZ and what does Steichen do? He calls a pass and they settle for a FG. The handling of Richardson has been questionable.

Does anyone know how much Irsay's daughter is involved in running the team? I thought I had read that she was handling the daily operations (PR, tickets, travel, facilities, etc.) but none of the FB side.

At a minimum, Ballard and Bradley need to go. Wouldn't bother me if Steichen went as well. We need someone like Vrabel who is more of a hard ass.

I know a lot of people here dislike Pat McAfee but I am glad he is calling out the organization and the players for what everyone sees on the field. I hope its a wake up call to those that makes sense decisions but with Irsay at the helm I highly doubt anything will change!

Two things most everyone says needs to happen for a team to be successful. 1. Have an owner that stays out of the way of the FB experts. 2. Maintain consistency so as not to disrupt and build a culture. To his credit, Irsay has done both. Unfortunately, I think Irsay has let Ballard hang around two years too long.

I thought Ballard did a great job early as a GM but starting reaching too much in the draft and never tried to acquire real talent through free agency.

Agree. He was pretty good early, but he's missed on guys like Paye. Barely played at scUM due to injuries and he still took him in the first round. He's been a bust for a first round pick. I'm not sure Ballard knows what free agency is. We should see some house cleaning on Black Monday.
