It was in the 30s last night all across the Southeast. It was in the teens in parts of East Tennessee.
Yes and all the southerners were crying all day long about how cold it was and it was miserable. I live in Charlotte. I was laughing all day. They hate the cold.

If there's one thing this playoff has confirmed, it's that the average IE poster is that dude in college you see walking to class in 18° wearing shorts and a t-shirt and is clearly baiting people to talk to him about it.

One of my friends was that guy in high school. Drove me nuts. 35 degrees in March though is long sleeve shirt and short weather. 35 in November in jeans and jacket weather. I don't make the rules.

Friday evening game @ 30 degrees (real feel mid-20's) at the start and dipping into the 20's as the game goes on! (y)

Most definitely. It has been colder than usual all around, but I'm guessing the temps in the south are going to climb back up in the 50's and 60's in a few days. You need to be in the cold more than a couple of days to acclimate.

It's currently 55 in Tuscaloosa and 38 in South Bend with wind gusts up to 30mph.

I just spent the better part of a week in the Midwest for Thanksgiving. You hear Arizona folks say its a "dry heat" - well it cuts the other way in the Midwest. It's a dry f-ing cold that had my lips chapped before I even got in the rental car. Hey crank up the heat and have your skin feel like it is peeling off your body when 2% humidity dries everything out. It was low 40s when I landed back in NC and never had air feel so good hitting my lungs. Dammit if every one of my kids didn't ask a dozen times why people choose to live there.

Moral of the story - Bama or Clemson or SMU or Miami ..... they are to going to make my comments above sound tough. ASU might hate the cold but will handle the dry - I give them a climate advantage over the south eastern schools.

John Brice & others have reported that the committee wants ND playing on Friday night so it sounds like that is what we can expect
He clarified on the latest II pod that if it’s Bama/ND it is now Saturday night for ratings extravaganza.

If it is someone other than Bama, then it’ll go back to Friday night.

From what @IrishLax posted earlier about the committee intentionally matching up Bama/ND, I would say this all checks out.

Can someone post Kiffins post about how their resume is better than Bamas but Bama will get the bid due to $ from name recognition? Seemed compelling.

I saw some opinion pieces about SMU opting out of the ACC championship. Just hand Clemson the ACC championship by forfeit. Some compelling arguments made, basically they can protect their current ranking. Thoughts?

If they believe it's essentially an elimination game, why not?

Haha so funny you say this. I’m also in Charlotte and literally had someone text me this morning like “don’t you miss California on days like today? It’s so cold!”

I don’t miss California for multiple reasons, but I certainly don’t miss it just because the low is 30 and the high is 50 lol these southern summers definitely thin the blood though!

Is that even possible? Seems like they would be contractually obligated.

But, can we get rid of Conf Champ games?
