Good pickup, but I have my reservations. It has nothing to do with bag chasing down the line or whatever, but the kid visited ND once, is from Tennessee, and made an early commitment. The relationship with Mickens (and his developmental abilities) was also a big deciding factor. But, is it likely that Mickens is still on staff by the time he signs? There is a lot of time for Mickens to get hired away between now and Dec '25.

Another thing to add here. In addition to his 6'1- 6'2" height, Smith measured in with 33.5 inch arms at ND. Which are longer than Cam Hart's (33 inches at the combine)

nice get. Seeing freshman produce in a playoff team especially DBs I’m sure was a huge factor.

I still wonder what the perception of Mickens is within the good ol' boy circles of the coaching fraternity. Shouldn't this have happened by now? He's only been a CB coach in his career up until this year.
