I mean i been eating it since the scuzzdale mall location existed. I know full well what it is. My favorite is the seafood ala hacienda with the imitation crab meat
Made going to Hacienda even better. Hit up Aladdin's arcade while you're waiting, movie and Montgomery Wards after dinner.

High school kids. Yeah, pretty clear we're not throwing huge bags at high school kids. I don't think anyone here thought we were, at least at the level of the teams that those sort of players are going to. (And if the point is winning football games, I do think it's fair to ask how those guys are playing, which, except for Nico, is not very much or well).

Portal's a little different. We went and got the top QB on the market each of the last two years and have picked up a variety of other good pieces as well (JJB, Harper, Clark, all this year's WRs). That doesn't happen without NIL. Are we landing elite younger transfers - like, say, Caleb Downs? No. But that's largely because of admissions rules, not NIL.
True Freshman can transfer into ND no problem, so Downs wouldn't have had an issue, just like Amir Carlisle and Alohi Gilman. Not making a serious effort to go after Downs was infuriating. The issue with ND is undergrad players who are more than 1 year out of HS that don't attend elite academic institutions. Riley Leonard and Brandon Joseph didn't have their degrees, but they attended Duke and NW, 2 elite academic institutions. That leads me to believe that ND has little to no problem accepting undergrad transfers, who are more than 1 year out of HS, as long as they come from elite schools like Duke, NW, Stanford, and Vanderbilt.

So ND is limited to taking the following types of transfers:

1. Grad transfers
2. Undergrad transfers more than 1 year out of HS from elite institutions (Duke, NW, Stanford, Vanderbilt)
3. Players transferring after their true freshman season (Gilman, Carlisle, etc.)

So if ND is not going to pay recruits and instead prioritize dropping bags for portal players, then they need to look at every stud true freshman at a position of need and tamper with them/offer them a bag. It can't just be rental players with only 1 year of eligibility left.

So after Holtz it was the academic standards until Weis showed up and started landing 4* and 5* guys, then with Kelly it was the RKGs and now it's us getting NIL'd....I need to start selling bottles of air to ppl if they really believe thats all it is at this point.

Yes, the problem is ND is always behind everyone else.

My understanding re: undergrad transfers (including freshmen) is that it’s primarily about coursework and having credits that will apply at Notre Dame so they’d be on track to graduate in four years. It’s easier for freshmen because they have more time and are less likely to have launched on majors Notre Dame doesn’t offer (like criminal justice or phys ed). But even freshmen need to have comparable coursework.

Gilman went to Navy. Carlisle to USC. Both are the sort of schools where freshmen likely take classes similar to what they do at Notre Dame. Not sure that’s as much the case at Bama.

TN, MO, GA, Miami, OSU, FSU, TX, Bama, Oregon, FL all higher unless I'm crazy (scrolling fast).

But we're definitely not killing it in the portal. We're about what we are in recruiting, a 2nd tier ~12th ranked class based on talent.

And how'd that fare for OSU and Miami today? Tennessee, Georgia and Bama all year?

Don’t know for sure but Gorney said he was a definite for the game.

He should go to the party locker room celebrating a playoff birth and ditch the one who will soon be embarking on another coaching search
