This really could not be a better situation for the program.
Night game in an iconic venue vs a team that is power rated near 50th (ESPN FPI has Army 48th) best in the country, but will ranked near 20th.

Marquee game by far of the evening slate for college football, so likely every neutral and those who vote will be watching.
Go out and win by three scores, and look good doing it...and we should be well on our way to hosting a CFP game!

Also, very happy in a weird way that Gameday decided to pass on this, because it would have just been an added distraction.

With IU/OSU, I bet Gameday didn't even consider it.

What was his injury? He ran 36 times their previous game.
It was an illness not an injury that caused him to miss the AF game. 36 carries vs N Tex but only 2 passes.
They better adjust that mix if they expect to do anything vs our defense

They didn’t disclose. He missed AF and wasn’t great against North Texas. They do throw more and mix things up. He’s a tough kid so he should be better with the bye
??? They have passed only 69 times in 9 games (51 coming from QB Daily). Maybe they have several tricky passing plays in their repertoire that they plan to unleash on the Irish, but it doesn't appear that their passing game will inundate our secondary.

I was at the Coastal Carolina game last year where they threw zero times. My point was they throw more than in the past and have actually had some bigger pass plays for them.

Currently -16 on DraftKings. Few more than I expected.
ND has been racking up TO's lately, which obviously has led to scores. At some point, the TO margin tends to even itself out. I thought that UVA would be the game where it happened and took UVA against the spread... got lucky with a backdoor cover in spite multiple TO's.

If Army can hold on to the football, 16 seems high.

This feels like a game I convince myself is going to be tight only for us to win by 3+ TDs.

List of Army opponents and their SP+ Offense

FAU 119
Rice 114
Temple 126
Tulsa 106
UAB 91
ECU 77
Air Force 127
North Texas 28(???)

Notre Dame is #11, and while UNT has put up silly numbers, the two defenses they faced with a pulse held them to 21 and 3, them being 28 in SP+ offense is silly

Army has not been tested defensively all year long, ND should win with relative ease and it doesn't need to be close whatsoever

Says game is on NBC/Peacock. Assume this means it's on both and we don't have to have Peacock?

Only reason I thought they may not, is since it is the Fox Big Noon game.
Regardless, they almost never go to neutral site "pro" venues over college campus setup, because of the obvious difference in atmosphere levels.

So doesn't look like anything was mentioned in regards to greathouse. And he's still listed as the starter so should be good news right?

I was just coming here to post this. Doesn't seem he was asked directly about it. I wouldn't put any value on the depth chart, Onye was listed for weeks when he was actually out.

Love all our Armed Forces; have had several employees/co-workers from Army (101st Airborne, Green Berets, Space Force, and Marine Corps). They're all incredible individuals who do the most extraordinary things for all of us. I was invited to the retirement ceremony for one, and when I saw all the deployments and things he did, it brought me to tears. Don't ever underestimate the character of our Armed Forces, and I salute all of them.
If you ever have the opportunity to get involved in any Wounded Warriors event, do it, it will bring you to your knees. Thankfully, many opportunities here in Texas to give thanks to these selfless individuals.
Otherwise, Go Irish, Beat Army.

Was curious what kind of defenses Army was putting these dummy numbers up against and well…..

FAU 104
Rice 87
Temple 121
Tulsa 124
UAB 130
ECU 84
Air Force 91
N Texas 123

34 combined points against Air Force and North Texas last two weeks. As long as we get some semblance of option defense we saw against Navy, we should see a similar end result.

They ain’t played nobody, Paul!

Entire internet getting over their skis with "What if Army goes undefeated, would the CFP leave them out?"

With a bitter taste in their mouth from the loss in 1958, MF will have our lads ready for revenge.

Yet, for some reason, the spread has moved a full FG down to -14.5, and ND is still just-105 to cover.
