It's a double edged sword. A lot of wages went up after COVID, people didn't want to go back to their crappy jobs for the same pay. If you raise wages, it'll lead to more inflation and prices going up. From an economics standpoint you either need to increase supply to help drive down costs, or demand has to fall. Helping to cut costs for food producers could help drive down prices too. Maybe institute a labor reimbursement program for farmers so their profits don't get eaten up by the help.
