I would have thought a prominent right wing commentator praising Hitler would have elicited a "Yeah that's really fucking bad" or a "Well Elon is more hands off but I hope that guy gets dealt with", not some sort triangulation to "oh they keep calling him Hitler!!!".

It's the whole meme about someone saying they like pancakes and someone saying OH SO YOU DONT LIKE WAFFLES? WHAT THE FUCK.
And it's not even the Democrats that were the ones originally calling him Hitler, it's those around him like his VP choice, the Dems just keep it the spotlight and are agreeing/repeating it

None of us seem to know who the guy is, so I don't think he's worth spending any time on. If he's a far right nutjob, then fuck him. He doesn't speak for the masses.

How about we all just agree that IF they did make auto interest tax deductible, the rich would finance the cars regardless of all the bullshit back and forth previously posted.
Anyone else remember when use to be able to write off the interest on car loans and credit cards?

While we're on the topic of car financing, I've got an anecdote. My grandfather is fairly well off. He's the kind of guy that always goes to the dealership when his car has a problem. One Friday before an ND home game his Buick Enclave got some sidewall damage on a tire, this was his tailgating vehicle to every game. He goes into the dealership and they tell him they're out of that particular tire and won't be able to get it in till next week. He then asks to look at their new Enclaves and tells them he'll buy one outright on the spot on one condition: someone unloads all his tailgating gear from the old Enclave and loads it into the new one the same way (The trunk and rear seating area were completely packed floor to the ceiling). He drove to South Bend the next morning in a fully paid for new SUV.
Did that include a small ND cooler? lol

If I didn't mention it before, he loved that gift btw. He lives on St. Pete Beach half the year, takes it with him anytime he's walking there.
The story predates the Cincinnati game though.

The media also losing their minds over what Tony Hitchcliffe said about Puerto Rico is the most disingenuous news reporting I’ve ever seen. It was a bad move by the Trump campaign to be honest because obviously this was going to happen, all he does is talk shit about everybody! But seeing headlines like “Trump Loyalists Spew Hate At Rally” and then referencing a shit talking comedian in Tony as a Trump Loyalist is LOL funny.

I would have taken the gamble on having one of the hottest comedians speak too, but the dude didn't capture where he was.

The narrative isn't hitting because people are more comfortable identifying with the brand.

Maybe the most despicable thing a media org has done this election

The dude and current RNC platform has so many overlapping ideas and rhetoric that is seemingly stolen from the Nazi playbook, and then you're surprised when people draw the comparison is pretty comical.

Known homophobe and racist Nick Bosa supports Donald Trump, nothing newsworthy here

Auto loan interest deductibility is fucking terrible policy. Incentivize poor people to make riskier purchases, and the rich will be laughing all the way to the bank at idiots that eat it up.

That is exactly what I'm saying. Jesus read the first fucking post lmao. You think someone who has $770K to invest into the market yearly is "dealing with the bank" my god. I think that's all anyone needs to read right there.

Congrats on talking yourself into a circle. No wonder you support Word Salad McKneepads.

Your original claim was effectively "it is stupid to pay cash if you can borrow less than 7%, any rich person would do it that way which is why they are rich." Paraphrasing of course.

Confirmed: Toronto doesn't know many rich people.

Remember when you wrote this, which is like, almost exactly what my entire point was in the discussion you commented on?

I just recently remembered this conversation from a few years ago. I ultimately followed everyone’s advice who suggested to continue investing. Although I did add a few extra bucks to the mortgage. As we know now, market volatility has totally destroyed my three year plan. But I’m still on track for early payoff in about 5 more years. Which means I cut the 15 yrs down to 8 total since refinancing…while also saving some money in what’s now a cash fund, getting about 6%.

It still doesn’t make sense mathematically to pay off the house versus investing. But doing so reduces my monthly expenses, which ultimately allows me to cut back hours at work to spend more time with family. And eventually retire early. That was the goal all along.

Thanks again for everyone’s input. I value your opinions and wanted to provide an update.

Rich people absolutely do not buy cars with cash. If you have FCF of >$150k for a nice car you are not putting that towards a car lmao.

That is the incorrect position to take. If you can get a rate below 7% you should always finance it. You will over the course of the finance term earn higher rates of return than 7%.

If you’re not putting the money into a growth orientated stock, you’ve already doubled down on the mistake of not financing it. This is compounding your error.

You’ve lost the opportunity to make back safe gains by not financing, so to make up for it you should be aggressive with your next investment decision.

Your first three posts on the subject.

Lmfao this is just next level delusion
Rhetoric towards immigrants, "communists" and MAGA, are all plays out of the Nazi playbook. Immigrants for them were the Jews ruining their country. Hitler ran out the "communists" and anyone else that opposed him politically as soon as he took control by using military and state police, and he ran on restoring glory to Germany. There's even more parallels if you dig further.

The math checks out but...

Your post was about rich people, though. Which makes my question completely irrelevant cuz I aint rich homie....Also, if you read that carefully....I did decided to put extra money towards paying off the house despite the math. Individual goals matter, and mine was paying off the house to reduce expenses and retire early (which also means I have to strike a balance with investing as well)...Anyways, rich people DGAF about this. I can assure you that high net worth people did not reach their level of wealth by financing $50,000 cars. VHNWI and UHNWI couldn't give a shit less about this math. They don't deal with banks for car loans, they pay with stuff for cash because they can and because it's easier and because your math doesn't move the needle on their overall value.

No, it makes it completely relevant because if you're asking those types of questions your in no place to assume I don't "know rich people".

It's not about financing cars = rich lol. It's about the mindset of understanding how debt works. They finance the cars because they have debt facilities with their banks that have specific provisions to allow them to finance at much more favorable rates. Or they have contacts with fleet leasing rates that can assist in financing their personal cars too. I've seen this countless times where a manufacturing company will have 10/15 cars financed by a lender and there is another separate finance rates for the owner's car.

Whatever dude, continue to find posts of mine to disagree with just because you don't like the poster lol.

Conflating legal immigrants and illegal immigrants (and now add fast tracked, rubber stamped, BS asylum grantees) is horribly disingenuous and downright disgusting when being so intellectually dishonest in order to substantiate your retarded "Nazis!" claim.

Blaming a certain population of people for all of the countries problems is what they both have in common. They're scapegoating a group of people and blaming all the problems on them, much like the Nazis did with Jews.

Kick out the illegals and show more discretion with "asylum" that has obviously become a loophole. Bigger, wider, faster door for LEGAL immigration. This is based on fairness and respect for the rule of law. It is horribly disrespectful of LEGAL immigrants who take a decade plus to do it right to have Haitians or whomever hop the border with generic asylum claims. You conflate this with "NAZI!!!" because you just want to hate people.

Surprised SnD hasn't jumped on the chance to call me a Nazi for such an outlandish stance.

I blame the Democrats for the country's problems. Including the problems experienced by actual Jews, from actual liberals, which is actual hate, in the many hate-filled events we've seen in this country over the past year. I don't blame the 12 million migrants and criminals from around the world who flocked here because we had inept leadership. I blame the inept leadership. That doesn't mean we should just open the borders and let over 13k murderers demonize those who don't think it's a good idea. Rapidly injecting a shitpot of people into the country does indeed create problems. That's why people like me wanted to see those problems bussed to blue cities so the idiots who cheered this on could experience them firsthand.

I laid out a few examples of things Trump is doing that are similar/same as the Nazis. Hell I never even called him a Nazi or Hitler. That's very dumb and diminishes the terror caused by that man and that Party. But if you can't see any similarities then I dunno what to tell you. And I'm not speaking about immigration policy at all, I'm talking about how immigration specifically is being spoken about. Saying they're all murderers, criminals, and crazy. Blame immigrants and foreign countries for stealing out jobs. You might not be blaming immigrants for our countries problems, but a large populace does and it's because of the way Trump and those he surrounds himself with.

Stephen Miller's speech yesterday proves exactly my point. He blamed all of our countries problems on other countries taking our jobs, and the remaining jobs here were stolen by immigrants over decades. That we are no longer safe because of this. And him saying "America is for Americans and Americans only!" is definitely not at all similar rhetoric to the Nazis. Oh wait never mind its stolen from "Germany is for Germans - foreigners out!" Which was a slogan used by Hitler building up hit nationalistic base. Its exactly what's happening here and proves my point of how similar the rhetoric is.

Here's what Trump said yesterday about democrats:

“It’s just this amorphous group of people, but they’re smart and they’re vicious, and we have to defeat them,” Trump said in explaining his use of “the enemy from within.”

“And when I say the enemy from within, the other side goes crazy. … They’ve done very bad things to this country. They are indeed the enemy from within. But this is who we’re fighting,” he continued.

This has been his rhetoric for 8 years. He's constantly fighting the boogeyman and pinning his supporters against anyone that doesn't support him. Traditional republicans and conservatives have been essentially kicked out of the party because of this. First it was the deep state and draining the swap. Now it's the communist democrats. Which is exactly political party the Hitler warned the Germans about and got them out of office any way possible.
